Hotel Lagos de Cesar, Tenerife

Advantages: A great family resort
Disadvantages: No

...We have a couple of very young children and this hotel was perfect for them. The sandy beach was only 20 meters from the hotel which the children loved. During the day there was a super kids club that was FREE to hotel guests which occupied the children for a few hours while the mums and dads could have a break. In the evening we had baby sitters from the hotel, they charged about 10 euro and hour and that allowed us to have a drink and an evening meal. The babysitters were all staff from the hotel and they were great .!! The good thing about this hotel is that you can use the other pools on the complex and i would reccomend in the evening for the parents to goto the Mederterian hotel next door and visit the chill bar in the evening its GREAT !! Advantages: Cheaper than the average all inclusive
Disadvantages: Dont get booked on the top floor

...a nice bar not too far. Bad thing not too good on the bank balance after already paying for everything. Be careful if you go in the hight of season. The wait at the bar is very long and the queues go way beyond exceptable. One good thing I can say about the hotel was the entertainment. I do like to join in all the silly games. The facilities for the kids were also excellent. The pool was ok, clean but small and the evening shows where brill (you have been warned win any game during the day and you get a cheap bottle of champange in the disco). Although the hotel boasts free sunbeds, you better be prepared to get up very early to put your towel on one. The Lago lido is very nice. Not too far and free (lots of sunbeds there). Outside the hotel are lots of shops. Great for the shopaholic's and some good bars. You can also take a taxi... Read review

Advantages: Spectacular lava eruptions at night
Disadvantages: Cloudy at times

...A volcano is like a candle, one year the lava drips on one side, the next year it drips on the other. We visited in March 2004, and stayed at the Hotel Arenal Los Lagos on the north face and could see the lava from our bed! You can find more info on this helpful site (we booked with them), a map of the lava flow & the locations of the hotels: http://www.arenal.net We explored the area because we plan on returning with our families. The hotels we saw with a direct view are: Los Lagos, Volcano Lodge, Arenal Paraiso, Montana de Fuego, and Tabacon. The los Lagos having the best trails, and best views. The Arenal Lodge is way out on the lake, with not a good view of the lava, being to far away. Often the area is cloudy, covering the crater, that's why it's important to stay in a hotel with direct view, just to be there when it clears up... Read review
