Advantages: Beautiful scenery and impressive history Disadvantages: the lake can dry up in a drought
...If you are visiting the town of Udaipur a boat trip on the lake is essential. Lake Pichola is a man made lake that was built in the 14th century and it is amazing to realise that it is 8 kilometers square and is fed only by rainwater.
Cruising on the lake in a low slung open boat, you head towards the Lake Palace hotel, made of beautiful white marble. It is now a first class hotel where you cn go for a sumptuous meal for about £15.00.
As you cruise away from the shore, you look back to see the ghats (platforms) where the people wash their clothes and themselves. The water appears clean, but lurking in the crevices by the walls an accumulation of scum and debris makes one shudder at the thought of the bugs to be picked up by the unwary traveller. On the other side of the lake is a small island palace called Jag Mandir...

...For all of you that have been to Lake Vyrnwy you will know what I mean when I say what a wonderful, peaceful, magical place it is, and for those of you that have not been , , , I can only say you are missing out!
The Lake vyrnwy Hotel is situated in the heart of Mid Wales near the shropshire border of a town named oswetsry. High up on the rocks it sits over looking the lake and tower. It has some spectacular rooms including facilities to host a wedding with it's very own bridal suit. It has a lovely restaurant that over looks the lake and is beautiful to sit in on a summers night, the food in the restaurant is outstanding with friendly local staff waiting on( well worth a visit). There is also a tavern which does standard bar meals and also has a dining area overlooking the lake which again on a summer night is spectacular...

...A nice small friendly family run hotel in simirone on lake garder
as a nice surprise my boyfriend oh now now my future husband took me away and this is where we stayed a lovey view a great place a romantic setting but oh watch the biting flies at night i got bit
the hotel has three floors each with so many bedrooms we were on the first floor in a nice room with a double bed well two singles made into one there was a wardrobe and dressing table also and one chair we had a nice balcony with a view over the car park but there are rooms with views over the pool and the lake, there is also free soap and shower gel in the bathroom there are towels but there like sheets really thin cotton but the rooms are clean and cleaned daily.
the food well some complained it was not anoth but there was a choice each day for the breakfast...

21 the lakes is a small boutique hotel in the lake district town of windermere.
The hotel is situated on the main road that heads towards the lake and is about 3 miles from the lake itself.
