For my boyfriend's christmas present i wanted to do something really exciting - so i booked us flights to Geneva for the Geneva motorshow in April. We decided to wait until nearer the time to book a hotel and we got this one cheaper than most-although it was pretty basic for the price but you must consider the price of everything in Switzerland as it is soooooooo expensive.

We stayed from Friday until Monday and it was about £250 for the hotel bed and breakfast basis, which in my opinion is too much.
Our first impression was 'oh my goodness, we paid £250 to stay here!' Our room was okay and had a bathroom with bath and toilet and sink. It also had a kitchen area but was about a 1m square and had a fridge full of food and treats (which by the way are extortion prices. for example we paid £4 for a small glass bottle of coke!) Also there was a kettle and cups andtea and coffee and a sink! I don't even think the sheets were changed or the towels - i think they were just hung back up!

The internet site was Easyjet hotels and we read that it was:

'a modern 4storey building...' - it certainly didn't look too modern to me especially when it was built in 1975!
Address: . RUE DU GRAND PRE 62, GINEBRA,1202

'...in the heart of geneva...' - yea if you don't mind public transport to get to the main venues! The taxis are really expensive too and especially to the international zone which is really over-priced and I took Del there for a meal on the Sunday. The wine alone for one bottle worked out at £45 and the meal was £50 so it was an expensive lunch to say the least!

'...its own restaurant...' - which only served breakfast - continental - not exactly what you would expect after paying that sort of money - i'd hoped for a coissant and not just cereal and toast. When we asked if we could eat in the hotel we were told to go to the end of the street - it was this crappy looking cafe and we actually surprised ourselves when we had a lovely meal there for about £30 with wine and drinks and two courses each!

'...bars and pubs all lie within 100m from the hotel...' - yea right! one irish bar within that distance and rest were alot further and did not look too appealing - a mcdonalds milkshake looked far better!

'...500m away guests will find shopping venues and clubs...'
- ha ha i think they meant as many chemists and rubbish clothes shops altho there was a supermarket and a mcdonalds!

'...guests are offered sauna as well as a gym...' - except this was in the local leisure centre and about a mile away. We didn't even bother cos by the time we got there we were wrecked!!

If you are planning a holiday i would not recommend Switzerland. At the motor show people were rude to say the least and on the public transport they push about until you literally cannot breathe cos there are that many people in the bus! It was ridiculous! If you are going, i would recommend the International zone as there are brilliant - yet very expensive -shops and restaurants and then you will not require public transport.

Thanks for reading!
