most wonderful localities of the world, there is an unspoiled place, amid eucalyptus trees, prickly pear plants, where time seems to have stopped and where the peaceful and friendly family atmosphere makes it the ideal place for the perfect holiday. Our 13 rooms are very comfortable, all with bathroom and shower, air conditioning under request, TV and large windows overlooking a mediterranean garden. For breakfast we serve fresh, locally home-grown food. Some evening it is possible to order a special dinner of grilled fish, accompained by white Vermentino wine, or roast of meats and the famous red Cannonau wine. Two large verandas look on a suggestive mediterranean garden where you'll find a lot of green areas for your relax and in a corner of the garden, between mediterranean bushes there is a pool. All around us, there are various places of archeological and naturalistic interest, such as the Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju and the underwater Caves of Neptune, which can be reached either by a panoramic road or by boat, directly from the sea. From Mount Doglia just behind us you can admire the bays of Alghero and Porto Conte with their white sandy beaches and pure emerald waters.

Advantages: Close to Beach and Old Town. Disadvantages: Not great to look at from outside, but good inside.
...This Hotel The ALMA d ALGHERO is just the place for a short stay in Alghero. Location is fine, within short stone throw of the Beach and close enough to the Old Town to walk your dinner off. (about 20 min slow stroll). The rooms are clean and bright and the showers large enough for even large people.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast time there is a good range to choose from. Cerials, cheeses, meats breads, fruits, cakes and even a sausage heating machine.
Nice little touches like the large bowl of apples placed in reception for the guests.
We would certainly use this Hotel again.
Bar prices resonable 3 Euros for large Amereto/Ice at night.
There is a super market within 5 mins walk.
Free Car Parking also available.
The Airport is close to the town, there is a Bus service from the Airport to Centre of Town...

...Do you remember the the Waltons? For those who are too young it was set on a farm, in America. The family were very family orientated and at night all of them called out Goodnight to each other. John Boy was the name of one of the sons.
Sardinia is such a beautiful island that we decided to return and explore more of the island last September. We organised a fantastic apartment and booked flights to Alghero, which was on the opposite side of the island, but it was much cheaper than flying into Olbia. Arriving early morning, we had all day to drive to the east coast and enjoy the scenery, but decided to spend a few days at Alghero before returning home. Having browsed the hotels on the internet, we settled on the Hotel Calabona, which was on the edge of the town and we were planning to drive south before crossing to the west coast...

Advantages: Lovely beaches, fantastic food Disadvantages: Praying Mantis are on the loose!!! Entertainment all in Italian
...I recently got married and it took us a while to pick the perfect place for a romantic honeymoon, eventually we chose Italy and Sardinia attracted our attention with it's beautiful beaches.
We booked through Portland, who were very helpful and got the price down for us to £990 for a weeks half board stay.
We flew with Austrius, who I have never heard of, but would recommend. There was plenty of leg room, which is a must for my new husband, and the breafast was great, a mini fry up, and a free champagne cocktail as the flight was slighlty delayed. Cocktails at 7 am, a great start to the honeymoon!
As soon as we got off the plane we were greated with a hot temperature and lots of Italian men helping us off the plane.
Our bags didn't take long to collect and after a short coach trip, we had reached our destination, Hotel Oasis...
