...Northern France is a liitle bit undiscovered for Irish travellers as there are few direct flights and the ferry crossing takes over 27 hours from Rosslare, however we decided to book this hotel through Crystal France by using their web site along with the cheap Ryanair connection from Dublin to Beauvis airport just north of Paris.
Deauville is a relatively easy 2 hour car trip from Beauvais through Rouen to the coast and we were really looking forward to a relaxing 5 night stay at this chic resort.
The hotel is stunning! The rooms are large and spacious and very luxurious indeed, with a fabulous view of the English Channel and the glorious beach at the resort.
Breakfast is very busy during summer in a most beautiful dining room with an abundance of freshly prepared food and one poor soul relentlessly squeezing fresh oranges all...

Advantages: A wonderful quiet seaside destination Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too quiet for teenagers
...overall character. Traditional is the way to describe St Annes with its up-market hotels, sandy beach, donkeys, pier and promenade as already mentioned. There are also lovely sand dunes to the north and south of the town, including a sand dune nature reserve.
Pleasure Island is also in St Annes. Here there are indoor adventure trails, slides and a ball pond. I find the on-site cinema gives a local alternative to Preston or Blackpool, and the miniature railway goes around the seafront here. Some old railway carriages now act as cafes and a public house and on site car parking make this a self contained venue. We have often eaten in the pub which is a well known national brand with large children’s play area. In the summer a large...

Advantages: Easy Access from UK Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...I have been to Normandy four times now and have never tired of it. I'm planning to visit again in August next year.
Normandy is on of the most historic of the French 'departments'. With the obvious connections of William the Conquerer, to the almost modern day history of the D-Day Landing Beaches.
In Normandy you will never be stuck for something to do.
We usually choose to stay at Deauville, a resort on the coast. Deauville is easily accessible from all of the major ports in Normandy, 30 mins drive from Caen and Le Harve and about 2 1/2 hours from Cherbourg and Dieppe.
Tourist attractions include the Bayeux Tapestry, Bayeux being about 2 hours drive from Deauville. The D-Day Landing Beaches, scattered along the Norman coast, with museums and other related attractions such as Mulberry Harbour and Pegasus Bridge.
Caen itself houses...
