Hotel Marina Port, Balatonkenese

...We flew with Kathargo Airlines from Edinburgh to Monastir. The flight time is about 3 and a half hours. The airline was very basic with no in flight entertainment and the usual meals were served. The aircraft was obviuosly quite old with shabby seats and trays that didn't work or were broken. If on a Boeing 737 then don't sit near the centre of the plane (seat 12 to 14) as the legroom is quite ridiculous! On Arrival at Monastir be prepared for long queues whilst you go through immigration. After collecting your baggage don't worry about finding your coach, as there'll be a willing porter ready to whisk you and your luggage off to the desired coach park. The journey to Port El Kantaoui takes about 1 hour taking into account the stops at various Hotels along the way. We stayed at the Vincci Hotel. On Arrival we were shown straight... Read review

Advantages: Beautiful Beaches
Disadvantages: Mainly For Couples, Hassle From Local Shopkeekers

..., although this was not private and was open to others. It did however mean that the crowds of People on the Beach tended to congregate in these small areas, with plenty of space in-between for those who were prepared to walk a couple of hundred Yards or so. We didn't venture too far on that first afternoon as the temperatures were a little too high and we felt that we needed some time to acclimatise. Our first impressions of the Beach area around our Hotel was however very favourable, but the main part of the Resort was a good couple of Kilometres away. Later that evening we headed off to the Marina, which we were told, was the lively part of Port El Kantaoui, where most of the Bars were situated. ...I have staying the Dart Marina three times now and I feel I need to share my experience with you. Lets put it simply the start with, the hotel is brilliant. There is no other word to describe it. It is right on the seafront and within a pleasurable walking range to Dartmouth. It has outstanding views across the sea with regular yaughts coming into the marina. The team of staff are friendly, helpful and see to your every need. The chef, who I have met, is a brilliant cook and has produced several different and amazing dishes from local produce each time I have been there. The rooms are immaculate and stylish with TV, radio, en-suite and several complimentary items. The facilities, which include a spa, swimming pool and gym, are state of the art and enjoyable to use.
