Advantages: Nippy, comfortable, easy to drive, ecomomical, reliable, makes me smile Disadvantages: Some people just wont like it
...I bought the Matiz in September 2007 and I have used it as a run about ever since. The mileage when I bought it was just under 10k which I thought was very good for a car was only 7 years old. It was bought new by an old lady who did not use it much so it was left in the garage for long periods of time un used. I went to view the car and the condition was excellent, inside it had the new car smell, all the seats were new and inside the car no wear and tear was evident.
Myself being quite tall, (6'1") I did think, how am I going to fit in that. Well I sat in the drivers seat and and moved the seat fully back, I was now seated very comfortably, I had plenty of leg room and the seat felt very supportive, apart from the head rest which when adjusted fully it still is no where near the back of my head. Advantages: Small, economic, cheap, roomy(believe it or not) Disadvantages: Acceleration issues, clunky gears
...When I was learning to drive this time last year, I really needed a small, cheap, first-time buyer type car, something that wasn't going to cost thousands to insure. As I am under 25, insurance is automatically expensive anyway, without having a big expensive car.
When I went to a local dealership, accompanied by my Dad and Fiancé, I saw my little Matiz and fell in love with it. Naturally, being your typical girly-girl, this 'love' was largely based on its colour (mine is gorgeous green - see pic below). I took it for a test drive, my Dad drove it, my Fiancé drove it, and then we went back to the garage and bought it. Much of the reason for the purchase was its price, at around £6000, it was cheaper than most for a reasonably new car - mine is a 51 reg, and had only had one owner when I got it.

Advantages: Spacious Disadvantages: It leaked rusty water, lost all power and had clunky gears
...From personal experience with the Daewoo Matiz (w Reg) i would not recommend this car. I was insured on this car but it belonged to my brother, and it had faults since we bought it. Maybe it was due to the fact that the car was not new, but even after we carried out repairs on it, the problems remained the same.
Our first problem with the car was the clunky gears, they were hard to move and often got stuck and made weird noises! It was annoying to say the least, but it was a problem my brother could just cope with considering it was low priced
However, on the way to work one morning, on a 70mph dual carriageway, my brother was driving at 20mph and i told him to put his foot down, but he did, the car just had lost all of its power for no apparent reason. After calling the RAC, we were advised to take it to a garage for a look over...
