Advantages: It's got all you need and more
Disadvantages: nightlife not as active as you might want

...are in Viana, you might also want to look at Ponte de Lima, Âncora, Valença, Cerveira. They are all within reasonable driving distance. HOW TO GET THERE Viana do Castelo is about 60km from Porto, making it very assessible from the airport. A flight from London to Poro starts from GBP100, and from Manchester starts GBP170 return. In the airport you can rent a car (advisable), but there are also connesction by bus and taxi to train stations. There is a motorway that will take you to Viana. A taxi fare from the airport to Viana os about 25E. It is a wonderful city and it will keep you occupied all thoughout. The locals are great and I am in love with it (as you can see). ...We have just returned from a Week-end in Porto. We were looking for a Hotel that had good location and some olde world charm, so this one seemed to tick the boxes. We booked it thru Octopustravel.com for £165 that being for a Double Room with Buffet Breakfast for three nights (About £27 per person per night B&B). Getting to the Hotel from the Airport can not be easier. You get the Metro from the Airport, you can not get on the wrong one as that is the start of the line, no changes necessary just stay on unti the BOLHAO stop (approx 25 mins) cost 1 Euro 85 Cents (purchase ticket from Tourist Info Booth in arrival hall, or if braver from the Ticket Machines in the Metro (Do have an English Button) for instructions. ...can believe the rubbish people have written about this perfectly adequate and relaxing holiday hotel. We did not have one problem with our stay there and if we did it would have been quickly sorted, what are people expecting the ritz? There are so many errors and untruths in these reviews written it is truly unbelievable and wholly unjustified, if you want an honest truthful review, here it is! We stayed at the Norbreck one week ago for four nights, myself and two of my two children, a boy aged 13 and a girl aged 9. When we arrived we checked in before the alloted time of 3pm onwards, it was at 2pm, life worked fine, and if it didnt there were others we could have used, keycard worked fine and we had been allotted a quiet room.
