Victoria Park Plaza Hotel, London It's More Than A Hotel!

Advantages: Pleasant Staff, Good Customer Service, Nice Breakfast
Disadvantages: Expensive

The Victoria Park Plaza in London is an amazing hotel that has very comfortable, quality rooms and staff who are friendly and professional. The best thing about The Victoria Park Plaza is that it is in a prime position just two minutes from Victoria Station and an easy walk to some of London's main attractions. I found it perfect for shopping and buying souvenirs. There were also quite a number of restaurants close by and my mum who cannot walk far didn't complain once. Although we ate at the hotel we also sampled London's China Town. It is a four star hotel and lives up to the standard. It is situated close to Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament. The hotel does not allow smoking anywhere near the building which my mum and I really appreciated because we are both none smokers. The smoking ban made ...

Victoria falls and the lunar rainbow

Advantages: Breathtaking scenery, and an amazing atmosphere
Disadvantages: It can be a bit on the wet side!

the edge of the Zambezi river, which boasts blue waters, hippos and fantastic sunsets. If you get the chance, go on the African Queen for a sunset cruise along the Zambezi, where you can experience more of the wildlife. You can walk across the Zambezi bridge, and get totally soaked from the spray, which is well worth it, just so you can say that you have done it! You can hire or buy waterproofs and camera cases, in case you want to take photos, but dont have suitable protection for them. The views are better in some respects, as you can see the falls from the front rather than the side, but because of the spray, it isn't as clear to see. Despite this, there are still some areas where you can take good photos away from the spray. There is also a trail leading down to the boiling pot at the bottom of the falls. Because of the spray from ...

Victoria Hotel, Amsterdam

Advantages: Close to Centraal Station, good deals online
Disadvantages: Thin walls, expensive extras

Having read several bad reviews of the Victoria Hotel, Amsterdam, I thought I'd better add my 2 pence worth. I recently spent two nights here after finding a bargain last minute deal on the internet. PROS We booked a triple room, which was two twin beds and a third camp bed (added to the room after we arrived). The beds were comfy, and the room and ensuite were both spotless. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite - one even recommended a restaurant which served vegetarian food. The swimming pool is free for guests to use, although we didn't. Despite being directly opposite the station, the rooms were lovely and quiet at night. Room service is excellent, and the food is delicious!! CONS The walls were a bit thin - you could hear voices and televisions late at night but this was only a problem on the first night ...
