Only stayed at the Hotel Montecitorio beg May, it only opened for business beg of April, so everything is brand new. The rooms are decent size and have huge plasma screent.v, free internet via a lap top in each room, excellent bathroom with shower which has body jets! all fully tiled. The hotel has a perfect situaution, although it was a little traffic noisy at peak times. Keep windows shut and it was ok. Only a few minutes walk to Spanish Steps, trevi fountain, and the wonderful designer shops! Taxi rank and bus stops 100yds. Air conditioning worked well. For the cost E180.00 per night the room was as good value as you get in Rome... Now for the down side! The building was difficult to find as there was no sign of the Hotel being advertised by way of signage. It does share a building with Hotel Parlamento, and the only way to find the hotel was via a security entry speaker and there it was written in pencil against one of the buzzers! Next problem, the hotel is on the 3rd or 4th floor and there is no lift yet working!! so when we arrived we had to haul our way up the stairs which is having work done to it still, and I did wonder what on earth I had booked! Also, breakfast is brought to you as there is no breakfast room, breakfast was terrible... it consisted of very strong coffee, weak orange juice, prepacked small toasts and a longlife prepacked chocolate croissant, I did try to get some fressh fruit but no joy. In fact I wouldnt really call it a hotel, but a Bed and Breakfast with excellent rooms so if you dont mind a climb and enjoy a good clean room with all facilities then will enjoy it. Security was high as we had to buzz to enter.

Welcome to Ciao! Good first review. I have found Rome hotels over-priced with poor service. It is such a popular destination that they don't need to make an effort, they will always have someone staying there.
