Hotel Monterey, Osaka

The Strand Palace Hotel

Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms

We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated ...

World Championships Osaka

Advantages: Great event to be held and to be at
Disadvantages: The cheats of the port with send a dark cloud over the sport

The world athletics championships in Osaka, what can I say. Its a great event for world class athletes to attend to show of their form. There has been lots of critisim from athletes to athletes about drugs in the event. I am a athlete my self and it a wonder how some athletes perform at amazing levels with so little effort I belive you have to work for the reward. I know people have natural talent but people have to work on this to be able to get to the best. I have read about kelly southerton crisising an athlete as she has been off and had a baby and has came back with very little training and got in the medals with the heptathlon. To be honest I cant see how this is achieved as of the break. I have curently been injured with a hamstring strain and rested for three weeks and have returned and it seems I have lost alot and will take me ...

Monterey Bay - A beautiful coastline

Advantages: Stunning area, peaceful
Disadvantages: Not a lot to do except relax

I visited Monterey last May whilst on a trip touring California. I had read all about the area in various guidebooks and decided it was worth going out of our way to stay there for a few nights. I reasearched the hotels myself on the internet and found the Monterey Bay Inn being one of the most popular so booked ahead. Be warned it is expensive but OH so lovely. More about the hotel below. We had been staying in san francisco for 4 nights before picking up our hire car and setting off along the coast for monterey. The drive alone was well worth it as there was stunning views around every bend. We arrived at the hotel (Monterey Bay Inn) at 4pm just in time for them to be bringing out the cookies and coffee provided free of charge to guests. I had booked the coastline view rather than the park view (the cheapest) or the full bay view ...
