...Tankersley Manor is a place that I have been to a few times over the years and it was also the location of my work's Christmas Party at the end of last year.
It is a well known Hotel and Restaurant with a good local reputation.
THE BACKGROUND
From the outside Tankersley Manor is quite impressive to say the least, standing in its own well maintained Gardens and Grounds and surrounded by Woodland the building itself is a rather imposing Stone built building.
The Hotel as you see it today has been extensively restored but it has been built around a 17th Century Manor House that once occupied the location.
THE FACILITIES
Tankersley Manor has a Restaurant, a Health Club and 70 rooms all with en suite facilities. Much of the building has been restored to its original character and there are original Oak beams on the ceilings...

...Blagdon Manor is a wonderful place to stay for a treat or to celebrate an anniversary. From the moment you arrive you will feel pampared and taken care of. You will be welcomed by the owners and taken to your room. There are only a few and I imagine that they are all furnished to the same excellent standard with lovely traditional furniture and beautiful drapes and soft furnishings. Its the little extras that make all the difference- the butlers tea tray with local pottery mugs and teapot, the decanter of sherry and hand-made chocolates and the fruit and fruit knives on the dresser. Pre-dinner drinks can be taken in your choice of lounge (there are 3-all beautifully furnished) before going into the conservatory for a really outstanding meal, served by very friendly staff. There are pretty grounds to walk in (and you can even borrow...

Advantages: homely feel, marvelous food and lovely new sauna Disadvantages: My stay was not long enough
...Me and my friend had a very nice break staying at The Manor last week. We found the staff to be, as they always are, very attentive, especially at the restaurant, which they pride themselves on actually.
We had a splendid meal, and enjoyed time in the new sauna (where we were quite pampered!)
The rooms are very nice, quite large and well maintained, all have excellent views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Room service is very good and any requests are usually dealt with very promptly.
I visit the Brecon Beacons 2 or 3 times a year and stay either here or the equally beautiful Peterstone Court.
This is a great place to relax, eat well, and enjoy the company of good friends. You will not be disappointed should you choose this hotel for your break....
