Advantages: Beautiful scenery, Clean Air, Superb Excursions, Warm and Friendly Folk Disadvantages: can be expensive to the British Pocket
...hilly, it is a most interesting place to stay and with lots going on both through the day and in the evenings, of course StAnton comes to life in the winter wiht skiing being available for both the Novice and the Expert Skier.
StAnton is an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the Tirol, with the Kaunertal Valley, Italy, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Germany all being within and easy day excursion by car, there are many chairlifts and cable cars around StAnton and regular tain service to Bregenz and Innsbruck.
I would not recommend StAnton to those who find hilly environments difficult, I would direct you to Seefeld which is very level despite being in the thick of the mountains..
StAnton is a lively place with lots of night life loads of Hotels and Guesthouses to suit all tastes and pockets and plenty of great walks...

Advantages: Family run, comfortable clean rooms, wi-fi available, car parking Disadvantages: No lift, table sharing, average food
...This hotel is a fair walk from the nearest lift station, and the ski bus stop seemed to be quite a walk from the hotel, as was StAnton centre. The walk back is quite steeply uphill - not practical in ski boots. Not many points for convenience, then!
The staff/owners at the hotel were very attentive, and there was a wi-fi card available for a reasonable price but access was limited to the public rooms, i.e. not available in the room.
The food was unimpressive, and guests in pairs were expected to share a table to make up a four, and single guests share to make up a pair. We hated this, and there was no choice, even though there was a nice space for expansion which was underused.
The rooms were clean and well decorated. Car parking was available, and there was a fine sun terrace.
NO LIFT!...

Advantages: Lifts, Snow, Cartouche, Friendly, Hotel Rendlhof Disadvantages: Piste grooming, wet lower down at Easter, weather on St Anotn, prices.
...part of the area for beginners, with many slopes for the beginner, and easy reds further up to boost your confidence. Unfortunately, the bus from StAnton all the way across to Lech is not very cheap - unfortunately I can't remember the exact figure - but it is possible to ski right across for free - if you ski to St Christoph from StAnton, then a free shuttle bus across to Zurs, then there are a few routes across - but this may take a good part of the morning - and you'll still have to get back so I wouldnt recommend it for beginners.
Lech is not featured in most top ski operators brochures because of the expense, which is mirrored in food and drink prices - £5 for a hot chocolate? Is this France? But there are free things - like another Speed Trap which is always fun :o)

Introduction
I can't claim to be an expert on Russian 19th century literature, but one thing I don't associate with it is crime fiction; so I was surprised to pick this book up and find that it was crime fiction. I was also surprised it was a novel,... more
