We stayed at the National Hotel in Moscow last August (03) for 3 nights. This hotel has to be one of the best hotels in Moscow. It is centrally located, overlooking the Kremlin and is easy to find if you are unlucky enough to have to drive there yourself. I would recommend you use a taxi is possible as the cars in Moscow don't know about speed limits or safe distances.
The Hotel reception personnel all spoke excellent English and ... ...using the desk in the hotel who were happy to give Americal dollars or Russian rubels.
Our room was okay, but then again we were not paying much compared to the best rooms. Each evening the beds were prepared for us and a chocolate mint left!
We used the conservatory snack bar just beyond reception a few times and found the food to be good. It was obviously prepared there and then for us and was tasty.

The breakfast resaurant is on the first floor at the front of the hotel and offers great views over the Kremlin and entrance to Red Square. We had a couple of evening meals in the main resaurant which is on the corner of the hotel. On one the passages to the restaurant the walls are lined with pictures of famous people who have stayed there including the majority of previous Russian leaders and other world dignitaries and filmstars. Here, all sorts of fancy food was on offer. My wife had to try the Kaviar ($89 per portion) as a started, as we were in Moscow and it was nearly our wedding anniversary! Also, for the more daring amongst you there was Bear. However, we had just been to the Circus and seen a 'Gentle Ben' lookalike so couldn't face eating him!
The Moscow underground is just 5 minutes away and a large park area just across the road.
There were lots of europeans staying at the hotel who had children although I didn't see any facilities for children whilst I was there.
Our visit to the National was part of a tour where we chose the 5 star option. Some others we spoke to who chose the 3 and 4 star options did say their hotels were not good and had had difficulty being understood by the staff, so I would recommend anyone going to Moscow to stay at the National if you can afford it.
Advantages: Great hotel, great location Disadvantages: Not that cheap...
We stayed at The NationalHotel for a few days last summer, on Collins Avenue, one block from Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami's Art Deco Historical District.
Built in 1939, the 13-story NationalHotel lobby contains original period antiques and richly designed wood furnishings. It was restored in 1997 to showcase the original Art Deco details (the concierge desk is a precise replica of the original from 1939 !), this hotel is a visual delight for Art Deco fans !
It's not a massive hotel (unlike the Loew's just a block down the street), but then most of the South Beach / Ocean Drive hotels are acutally pretty small affairs...
Other features at this hotel include:
- 115 tower rooms and suites
- 36 deluxe rooms and suites in the Cabana Wing, along side the pool
- The Triplex, exclusive tri-level penthouse suite

For my 21st Birthday my boyfriend and I were planning to go to London to get my Birthday present. We decided to drive down which I though would be too long to drive there and back on the same day so we opted to drive down the night before and book into a hotel. So the day before (the night we wanted to stay) I spent 3 hours trawling the Internet looking for somewhere suitable.
It was quite difficult really, as we needed somewhere that wasn't too bad but in a good area close to the tube. At the last minute all the decent hotels were full which left a lot of 2 star hostel type hotels, which had some pretty horrible reviews.
After a painful time I finally came across the Royal NationalHotel which seemed half decent well there wasn't reports of rooms being ransacked put it that way.

Elen's Castle Hotel, is situated in North Wales....
Dolwyddelan, Snowdonia National Park LL25 0EJ, Wales
I stayed at Elen's Castle for 3 nights, and for a 3 star hotel, it was pretty good and worth spending the money.
To start with, the rooms were satisfactory. To be honest, they were slightly damp and cold, but for one suit (a family room) there was a double bed, a single bed and a bunk bed...so it was suitable for up to 6 people.
The double room contained the double bed itself, a TV and a DVD player, two chairs, a kettle and some confectionary. There wasn't an interesting view from the window, but was surely refreshing after a tiring day.
The single room also contained a TV, but no DVD player, a sink, a wardrobe and some more confectionary for your tea or coffee.
There was another spacious room which contained a bunk ...
