This is a suitable hotel for tourist travel, or basic business travel. It's cosy, friendly enough, and conveniently located for shopping areas in central Belgrade and all sights. A bit far from Kalmegdan (maybe 15 minute walk).
Breakfast is basic, but the same as any Belgradehotel at this budget. One sure bonus of this hotel is the quiet... Very easy to get a good night's rest. Parking, unlike most hotels, is nearby: there is a public lot directly across the street (underground). It's around US $10 for a night of parking as I recall. Overall highly reccommended in the 'budget tourist' hotel category. Oh, and they have internet, but you have to ask (free).
Note: this hotel is on Dragoslava Jovanovica, not the other Jovanovica street, caused me hours of confusion, it's right next to the Parlaiment.

This hotel has been fantastic on 4 separate stays in Belgrade. It is friendly, accomodating if a bit basic, and extremely conveniently located.
The hotel staff generally speak english, some better than others, but are always willing to help. This is very useful in a place with very little as far as developed tourism. The rooms are basic but clean, and daily housekeeping is prompt and helpful. Probably the best thing about Royal is the location. 5 minutes from Kalmegdan park, 2 minutes from the center of nightlife, and about 10 from all other attractions: museums, library, shopping, and churches.
Other things worth noting are that they do currency exchange in the hotel (not uncommon, but good to know), have a bar, breakfast is served with the price of the room, and there is a car rental agency about 5 doors down the hill from ...

is my favorite Serbian food restaurant and the brewery as well. This is where I like to take my guests from UK, because of my favorite Serbian traditional dish, in the brewery, under Casino Hotel and it is called Karadjordje Steak (Karadjordje Family was a great Serbian royal family). Karadjordje Steak in this restaurant, among Belgrade singles is popularly called "a girly dream", because of the way it is prepared. Prepared steak resembles on a big penis in erection and its very tasty, served with different sauces or mayo. Whatever you decide to go, be prepared for dishes with lots of meat. Meat, meat, meat! But there are delights for vegetarians as well, but then, you have to query about dish you can order, without meat, because most of a traditional dishes simply including meat.
