Advantages: Very Clean Disadvantages: Awful Food, Noisy, Far way from Palma Airport
In October 2006 I went on an all-inclusive holiday for one week to Porto Cristo on the east coast of Majorca (Mallorca). I stayed in a hotel called the Monte Verde. It cost me £169 and I will now share my experiences of this hotel with you.
The Monte VerdeHotel was built in 1969 and was fully refurbished during the winter of 2000. The Monte Verde has a total of 140 rooms that are built over 7 floors.
When I pulled up to The Monte Verde I was not very impressed with the look of the hotel, it looked like a block of flats and was similar to some of the housing around Porto Cristo, which looked a bit basic and old fashioned. However The Monte Verde is only a 2 star hotel so I was not expecting too much.
Upon arriving inside at around midnight Majorcan time (+1 hour GMT), I was surprised to find nobody at the 24-hour front desk. I ...
Advantages: Attendance, atmosphere, staff, facilities, friendliness. Disadvantages: The localization.
- Very good and clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Personalized attendance.
The owners are from Northern Italy and the name comes from the famous Venetian palace.
- It's trying to maintain its original European atmosphere but in some instances has
submitted to more modern aspects.
- Excellent restaurant, International cooking and Italian specialities. One of the best,
if not the best, is the Bollito Misto accompanied by Mostarda di Cremona. This a delicious variety of boiled meats carved and served at the table, plus vegetables and the Cremona Mustard (which has almost nothing related to our common mustard) a hot condiment/dressing.
- The installations and facilities make it such that one can spend quite a few days there without needing to go out.
- I don't quite appreciate its location, near downtown, not very advisable ...
Advantages: Fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff Disadvantages: You want to go back - again and again and again......
Verdes Ristorante and Pizzeria
LANCASTER
Writing a restaurant review is very difficult.
Different people look for different things in a restaurant.
As far as I am concerned what I look for is a good atmosphere, a good menu selection, good value for money, friendly and helpful staff, but mainly it needs to be a restaurant that I want to visit again, and again.
This is certainly the case with Verdes Ristorante and Pizzeria which has been a popular family run restaurant in Lancaster for many years.
The restaurant is situated in the centre of town in Church Street, it's open seven days a week from 11.30am to 10.30pm for meals or just a tea or coffee.
Verdi's is a traditional Italian eatery that uses fresh quality ingredients and uses only De Ceccio pasta.
