Nice city hotel next to the Iguassu Falls

Advantages: Great breakfast
Disadvantages: The room is a little dated

In August 2007, my fiancé and I went travelling in Brazil. We went to Sao Paulo, Foz do Iguassu and Rio de Janeiro. I did some research on the web and found this really good tour company. They are called Iguassu Falls Tour and their website is www.iguassufallstour.com. They have a lot of different packages to suit your tastes and needs! We chose the Great Deal package which includes 2 nights standard double room at the 4-star Continental Inn Hotel with breakfast, transfers in and out of the Airport, tour of the Brazilian side of the Iguassu Falls, visit of the Itaipu Dam, tour of the Argentinean side of the Iguassu Falls, Safari Boat Trip and Landmark of the three frontiers in Argentina. The tour guide can speak English, Portuguese and Spanish. It costed USD548 (EUR432.42) for the 2 of us. We also add about USD100 (EUR78) to join ...

Review of Continental Inn, Foz de Iguacu

Iguaçu

Advantages: Less touristy and tacky than Niagara
Disadvantages: Give it time and it will become touristy and tacky

Iguaçu (or Iguazú) waterfalls are some of the most impressive in the world, not the biggest, widest nor tallest waterfall, but 275 separate waterfalls spread over a three-kilometre crescent between Argentina and Brazil. Most of the falls are in Argentina, but the best views are from the Brazilian side. While on holiday in Brazil, after a wonderful few days in Rio de Janeiro and before heading into the Amazon Jungle I spent a few days at Iguaçu, staying at the wonderful Tropical Das Cataratas Hotel. Getting There We intended to fly from Rio to Curitiba, but the weather was too bad for a small plane, so we flew to São Paulo and caught a bigger plane from there to Curitiba, to catch the connecting flight to Iguaçu. Hotel Tropical Das Cataratas We stayed at the four-star Tropical Das Cataratas which is about ten miles from ...

Review of Iguaçu Falls

Iguacu, Where are You?

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, shared by two countries, stunning falls
Disadvantages: long way to go but worth it

The Iguacu Falls are part of the Iguacu National Parks which exists on both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides and are designated UNESCO World heritage sites since 1984 and 1986 respectively. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel on the Argentinean side of the falls. It wasn't the best looking hotel in the world from the outside but it had a wonderful view of the Iguaçu Falls. Unfortunately our room had a jungle view rather than a when of the falls but in are the public areas the view of the falls could be enjoyed by everyone. On our first day we enjoyed the Upper (or Superior) walk and we were treated to our first sight of these amazing waterfalls. During the walks we were also lucky enough to see a badger-like creative called a Cotymundy foraying in one d the title bins. It was a sort of cross between an anteater ad a badger but about ...
