Well my family and I had this holiday booked since the end of January so we had been looking forward to it all year. Neither of us had ever been to Lanzarote so we didn't know what to expect. It was my mum and brothers first time abroad where it was hot; they've been place in Europe France mainly on previous holidays but not a sunny holiday. It was also my little brothers first time on a plane so he was well excited.

Cyprus was'nt my 1st choice for a hoiday this year, but Ruth my partners sister telephoned us in August 2004 to say she was getting married abroad in July 2005, and would we like to attend. Of course we said yes and so the task of booking in to the same hotel on the same board status began. Cols sister was traveling with Thomas Cook, so I called them ''no room'' they said '' Oh no'' I said. So on to my trusted PC, entered the name of the hotel in too a search engine and walla - a few moments later we was booked all inclusive in to the Anastasia BeachHotel.
After negotiating Larnaca airport, we located our taxis for the transfer and off we went through barren countryside along a stretch of road that was apparently a Motorway, two lanes and a speed restriction of 100km an hour. We turned off the motorway and past some appartments which ...

We have been back since & the hotel was about to be renovated.The name has also changed to the Bentota Beach Cinnamon Hotel.Despite all the devastation along the southern coast & the lack of proper government funding people are re building their lives & do rely on the tourist trade.There are sad tales of loss of life the turtle hatchery lost a huge amount of rare or endangered resident turtles that had spent their entire lives there.The man who runs it was very heroic and saved many peoples lives that day. Places like that rely on people visiting & donating small amounts of money.So please if you haven?t decided where to go on your holiday I can promise you ,you will love Sri Lanka as much as J and I do.
