So me and my boyfriend went to new york in march and stayed at this hotel. We were really excited as it was the first time we had taken a holiday together, and the first time I had flown long haul flight.
We set off to the airport and things werent looking to good. There was extreme fog we couldn't see a thing. luckily we made it to the airport though. When we got on the plane we were delayed for a while a flight was an extra hour because we were so slow going over to america, plus they had changed their clocks already so it was a different time zone instead of 5 hours behind they were only 4.
When we got near to new jersey we missed thelandinng so we went back round again. finally landed and was drastically tired but couldn't sleep.
We got to our hotel of which we though would be lovely. We were wrong. . . .
We got to reception and waited for 20 minutes to be seen and then when we got to the desk they started asking us for credit cards so they could have a deposit even though we had paid for everything. So as you can imagien it was rather annoying. We didnt have a credit card so we had to agree to pay them cash. We had to pay 75 dollars out which we strugged because we had just had to pay for a taxi from new jersey to new york.
We finally got to our room. It wasn't the best. It smelt a little musty and our window was broken, It wouldn't shut properly so it was freezing in the room. The view was just a brick wall and grotty curtins.. The hall-ways were worn out, the ice machine didn't work so we had to go to another level and the vending machine would only take $1 because it said it never had change but it did.
The only thing good about the hotel was that your able to bring your own food and drink into the rooms, nice big rooms and huge beds, close to all the sites and it was cheap.
It looks pretty on the outside but not so good on the inside. I personally don't think I would stay there again. It was just too much hassel. And wasn't to pleasent. You go on holiday for a break not to go to a dive and be misserable.
We were very happy to go home as the hotel made the horrible a bit misserable. There nothing worse than having to sleep in a horrible bed with a window that doesnt shut in winter.
The only thing i can really say is good about this hotel is that it had an exellent maids service every morning beds were made, fresh towels and shampoo were changed.
