The accomodation
Upon checking in to the accomodation I was asked for my Passport, so they could check the details of the booking I had made under my own name. I guess they use this procedure against breakages and in case of theft, trouble etc. I have not known this to be a feature in accomodation in England. This company procedure did not bother me whatsoever.
I travelled alone to this accomodation, having booked a small room, however when I was shown my room I am sure it would have been suitable for two people. As I was staying in prague for two nights on a leisurely short city break, this did not particularly bother me too much regarding the standard of the facilities. So if you decide to pick an independent hotel at random will you end up in a bed-bug ridden filth pit ...
Advantages: Small, smart, central Disadvantages: Nowhere to 'lounge'
If you are looking for a chic, modern hotel in a quiet but central part of Prague, and don't want to spend a fortune, the Bellagio is probably for you.
This 46 room hotel was completely renovated in 2002 and offers all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Our room was large and comfortable, elegantly decorated and furnished. We had two big single beds pushed together, a seating area with two chairs and a table, tv, (with MTV, sky news), mini bar, plenty of space, light and chocolates on the pillow. The bathroom was huge and had a great big walk in shower, no bath, but plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries.
We were on the top floor, so our view was mostly of rooftops, but from the staircase outside you looked onto a pretty courtyard.
We discovered that the room service menu (drinks only) was cheaper than ...
