Hotel Novotel, Krakow

Advantages: good
Disadvantages: not bad

just come back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. have stayed in novotel hotels before so i knew what to expect!! firstly the name! CENTRUM that would lead you to believe that it is centrally located! then think again! it is a good 15min walk ,which ok is nothing! (and the hotel is in a beautiful setting near the river) but when you start exploring this beautiful city, you do not realise just how much walking you will do!!!! There is a tram stop just across the road and 2 stops you are in the centre! thats fine but when you get the tram back, where it drops you off you are on like an intersection which is very busy, and unless you use the underpasses( there are 2, one being along side the river, the other by a supermarket, okay during the day but i would be a bit cautious at night! there were some drunks around!) you can always play ...

Review of Novotel Krakow Centrum, Krakow

Hotel Start - you'd be mad to dismiss it

Advantages: Pretty cheap, good value buffet breakfast, quieter than hostels, good transport links
Disadvantages: A bus/tram ride from town, may get stag parties staying, too basic for some tastes

would be a good idea to compare prices before committing. Hotel Start may not be the most stylish hotel in Krakow but it does offer very good value. You'll notice in the Old Town and Kazimierez quarters especially that there are lots of hotels but that does not make prices very competitive. If you don't mind the short amount of travelling, you find Hotel Start good value for basic accommodation. The online reviews don't tell the whole story; yes, there are padded doors on some of the rooms but that's nothing to do with the building's former life as a mental health instutition; the padded doors are to muffle the noise from the corridors and act as insulation; you find this in lots of eastern European and Russian hotels and inside people's houses too. Look past the decor and the hotel exterior and try Hotel Start for a cheap and quiet ...

My Stag Do Hotel!

Advantages: Lovely Reception/Bar area
Disadvantages: Uncomfy beds

I have just been to Krakow in Poland for my stag do and this is a review of the hotel that I stayed in while in Krakow. For those of you who are looking for some juicy gossip from the stag may I just remind you before I go any further about the first rule of a stag which is 'What happens on the stag, stays on the stag.' This is not a kop-out on my part but just simply due to the fact that I do not remember much about it! **GETTING TO THE HOTEL** We flew with Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick Airport direct to Krakow Airport, a flight which took about two and a half hours. We nearly never made it to Poland as the pilot announced that he may not be able to land the flight due to a very drunk Polish guy on the plane who was refusing to either sit down or fasten his seat belt for landing. The story that was passing round the plane ...
