Advantages: Relaxing, stunning scenery and still unspoiled! Disadvantages: Cuisine lacking in fancy menus.
...beautiful lakes here, one green and one blue.
I could write reams waxing lyrical on this beautiful island, but I intend to restrict myself and do an ABC. Please join me on my alphabetic tour.

The Airport is called Joao Paulo II, and is on the outskirts of PontaDelgada. There are daily flights to Lisbon which takes about 2 hours. Also flights to Canada, USA and Scandinavia. One flight a week from London is available during the summer months. Sata Air Açores fly daily to the other Azorean islands. Beware, we discovered we could not buy a liqueur at the airport as our destination was Lisbon were we were staying for 2 days! We hadn't realised it was classed as an internal flight, as the Azores is in Portugal. Had we bought it in a supermarket, it would have been OK!

Beaches. Actually there are very few, considering this is an island! One...

Advantages: Beautiful setting Disadvantages: Buffet dinner could be better
...Stepping off the plane at 21.00 hours in PontaDelgada, on Sao Miguel in the Azores the humidity hit me. WOW. It was hot, I was tired and hadn't expected this level of humidity. Thankfully we quickly collected our cases and didn't have any passport control to queue in, as we had flown in from Lisbon. Our tour operator was waiting as we came into the arrival hall and whisked off to our destination.
Twenty minutes and many bends and bumps later we turned a corner and saw a large hotel block, lit up and sparkling against the dark sky, standing beside the Atlantic ocean, with a high tree covered backdrop or should I say side drop! The long driveway through the gardens with lovely trees and flowers prepared us for the serene and calm entrance to this otherwise pink concrete block. There was a plaque saying when the hotel was opened...

Advantages: Friendly people, great diving and lost of nothing to do! Disadvantages: Lost of nothing to do if you aren't into diving, vegetating and socializing
...As a keen diver we frequent Ponta do Oura and Ponta Molangane in Mozambique on a regular basis. Although there are “better” diving spots in Mozambique, if you’re looking for value for money accommodation, good service and a pleasant diving experience, Ponta do Oura and Ponta Molangane are the places to go.
Currency and exchange
The South African Rand is a readily accepted form of payment and this can be very useful when purchasing local art and other trinkets to take home with you. (I will explain later)
Don’t expect to be able to use your credit card to buy or draw money from a cash machine as I don’t think they have ever seen a credit card, let alone a cash machine, although from time to time there are one or two of the dive operations there who will be able to do manual credit card transactions, (don’t count...

My impressions of this game when I saw it advertised on the internet was that it looked like a completely different type of game that I'm used to seeing for the DS.

I lived in New York City for a few years, but had little experience of its hotels until after I'd moved away. My husband and I stayed in the Library Hotel in late August of 2004 for two nights. After spending a few nights in one of its sister hotels the... more
