I don't know what hotel I'll be in yet as it's left to the tour operator, but it's one of three, including the excellent Port Salou Park.
There is so much to see and do in Salou and the surrounding area, that I would recommend at least a 10 night stay, (I've only got 7 nights this time!).

Salou is an excelent place to stay, for people of all ages. It is very much commercialised and is aimed at the tourists. The two beaches are golden long, but can also get crowded in the height of the season.
---------------The Hotel---------------- Last summer, I went to Salou and stayed at the Hotel Port Salou, the hotel was excellent! The rooms were spacious with a good size bathroom and Satelitte T.V. There was also a huge wardrobe (to put all my clubbing gear in!) Every room has a balcony, but most of them are fairly small, except for the toop floor, where the balconys are almost the same size as the room! The service was excellent and the bar staff (Jose springs to mind!), where friendly and talkative, even though there English was a bit rusty! The hotel was in a fairly quiet area of Salou, the only noise around was when there would be a fireworks at Port Aventura, which was over a hill on the other side of the hotel. This wasn't that loud though.
I enjoyed my holiday in Salou so much last year, that I'm going back this year. I don't know what hotel I'll be in yet as it's left to the tour operator, but it's one of three, including the excellent Port Salou Park. There is so much to see and do in Salou and the surrounding area, that I would recommend at least a 10 night stay, (I've only got 7 nights this time!).
-----------Things To Do------------ There is Port Aventura, a massive theme park thats part of Universal Studios. Salou has beautiful sandy beaches, plenty of shops and a superb nightlife, there are many pubs (about 50 or more) and many clubs. If you get bored of Salou can even take trip to Barcelona or Tarragona on the local trains. , these both retain a bit more of the authentic Spainish charm. Also along the seafront at salou there is a small funfair, with many fairground rides and sideshows. Shopping in Salou is excellent. The best types of goods to by are leather and ceramics(even thought it's difficult to carry heavy bowls home!). There are many restaurants and tapas bars that stay open till late at night, these serve well priced meals and excellent food. The best local dish to try is Paella, a mixture of seafood and rice. There are two beaches in Salou, one is extremley busy along the main front, and the other is quiet and in a succeulded cove. the quieter one is better if you don't mind the walk to the beach.
All in all Salou is well worth a visit there is plenty to see and do so you'd never be bored. It is a great holiday for anyone of any age, young or old.
