Hotel Pez Espada: A great break in Torremolinos

Advantages: Great location, clean and very good looking hotel. Great food. Relaxing
Disadvantages: Bar prices were a little high but will not spoil the holiday!

All you could want in a holiday! The rooms were very clean and had good quality air conditioning. Maids would call round daily with fresh towels and a tidy-up. The restauraunt offers a wide variety of very tasty buffet and cooked food, polite and helpful waiting staff. There is also a snack bar in the garden near the pool area with great tasty snacks on offer through the day. The hotel is 4* with 2 Great size and clean pools and a hot tub to coose from, as well as a lifeguard on hand. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds altho the prime spots are taken up very early! The evening entertainment was fab and usually of high quality. The hotel is positioned on the promenade, right on the beach front. hotel sol principe is fit for a king.

Advantages: everything about the place is an advantage.
Disadvantages: the non smoking policy (for some)

With the exception of Tenerife I usually tend to holiday places only once, preferring to try new places rather than return to ones I have already visited. I have been to torremolinos twice now though and a large part of the reasoning behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe). This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach. On approach to this hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the size of the grounds it stood in but it soon became apparent why. This hotel is actually part of a complex which includes as well as the hotel itself the Apartments Sol Principito, a fairly large private car park, a sports area, gardens, a supermarket ...

Hotel Palma Real, varadero, Cuba

Advantages: All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach!
Disadvantages: Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!

I stayed at Hotel Palma Real, Varadero, Cuba in September 2005 with a friend. We both had a fantastic holiday. I would rate this as a 3/4 star hotel, as it is typically at the lower end of the pricing for holidays to Varadero. However, don't let this put you off this merely makes it even more value for money! Location# The hotel is situated approximately 150 metres from the beach. Literally cross the road and you are there. Facilities on the beach include sunloungers, parasols, snack bar serving food and drinks, watersports, dance classes. The beach itself is beautiful and is around 20 miles long so you can walk as far as you like. We didn't find a problem with the beach being across the road, if anything it made us explore a little more than if we had been staying at hotel that was on the beach itself. Hotel Facilities ...
