Advantages: Friendly staff, great ambiance, decor, cleanliness Disadvantages: Can be crowded
If you want to visit the wonderful city of Madrid and stay in true luxury, then the Silken Puerta America is the place to go. Great facilities, excellent location, friendly staff, and surprisngly reasonable prices if you "shop around" the Net for special deals.
Located about 2 minutes walk from Caragena metro station, the Hotel is in a quiet part of town, and yet the centre, with all it's attractions, is just two metro stops away, and a return metro journey costs only 2 euros, which is less than £2.00. Compare that with the minimum £4.00 single on London's Underground, to see what good value Madrid can be as a holiday destination.
From the outside, the Puerta America does not look anything special - just a high rise with some strange grafitti-style writing in many languages, all over the facade......... but step over the threshold ...
Advantages: Very close to city centre and transport, Cheap. Disadvantages: Can be noisy
visited the Centro De Arte Reina Sofia. There are several permanent exhibitions here including works by artists such as Salvador Dalí, Juan Gris, Picasso, to name just a few. There is of course much more to do in Madrid but I just wanted to give a flavour of some of the attractions.

The hotel Asturias where we stayed was very pleasant and had a great location whilst remaining relatively cheap. The hotel was fairly basic, but for the price not much could be expected and we believe it was fantastic value and so would highly recommend. Especially if like us you are a couple ...
Advantages: Cheaper than city, clean and tidy, Disadvantages: location, language
I went to visit spain in april 2008 for my birthday and stayed at hotel praga for 3 days. It is located out of the centre but not too far away, there is a metro station 5 min from the hotel which is great and easy to use, the same as the one in london if that makes it easier for you. its 1 euro for a one way ticket, the down side is the staff dont exactly speak alot of english, which can be tricky at busy times of the day.We got a taxi from the airport which cost about 27-28 euro, easy to check in and all they require is your passport and a credit card. The rooms were very clean and tidy with towels being changed all the time. It had good room service and a mini bar which wasnt that expensive, it had a marble bathroom and good space for clothes and other stuff. It had a nice big bar area downstairs, but for the area it was in there wasnt ...
