Advantages: All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach! Disadvantages: Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!
I stayed at Hotel Palma Real, Varadero, Cuba in September 2005 with a friend. We both had a fantastic holiday. I would rate this as a 3/4 star hotel, as it is typically at the lower end of the pricing for holidays to Varadero. However, don't let this put you off this merely makes it even more value for money!

The hotel is situated approximately 150 metres from the beach. Literally cross the road and you are there. Facilities on the beach include sunloungers, parasols, snack bar serving food and drinks, watersports, dance classes. The beach itself is beautiful and is around 20 miles long so you can walk as far as you like. We didn't find a problem with the beach being across the road, if anything it made us explore a little more than if we had been staying at hotel that was on the beach itself.

As a regular business traveler, the value and the location of hotels is all-important as well as comfort. Traveling from up north for business in the Devon and Cornwall areas, I needed a room for a stop-over that was easy and direct to get to from the M5 motorway, and came across this hotel. It's set back in a quiet spot just off the main road into Tiverton. I had a great nights sleep after staying at the Best Western Tiverton Hotel. The room was absolutely spotless, the staff very friendly - and facilities surprised me with free Wifi, a printer, flat screen tv, desk/office area and an exceptionally comfy bed. Food and service in the restaurant couldn't be faulted - 2 courses and a pint for under £20. Very convenient location. This hotel is a hidden gem and comes highly recommended ...
Where can I start about this hotel ? This is a 5* hotel that really lives up to its reputation as the most prestigious hotel in Northern Ireland. It is part of the Hastings Hotel Chain (excellents chain) and is set just outside the town of Holywood (not California, Ha, Ha) in the Holywood Hills. It is a beautifully presented hotel which has mantained the oldy worldy feel while providing the most up to date facilities. At the moment it is getting a large extension bulit (May 2007) but it did not deter from my enjoyment in the slightest. It has 12 acres of beautiful grounds surrounding it and is only about 5 miles by taxi to the centre of Belfast.
