Advantages: Nice modern rooms and friendly staff Disadvantages: location is away from central Cagliari.
Location
The Holiday Inn Cagliarihotel is located close to the airport, on the outskirts of Cagliairi, therefore if you are planning to go be aware that the best way to get into the city centre is via a taxi (prices varied from 10-15 euro). The hotel is located just off a central road, but is quite nonetheless.
Check-in
Check-in was fast and efficient, I booked two standard King rooms and everything was correct. The staff at the desk were always polite and helpful and they could all understand and communicate in English.
The Rooms
I had two king rooms, I requested interconnecting rooms and the hotel honoured this request. The rooms are modern and look as though they have recently been done up. I had a view of the road outside, although the room was sound-proofed so it didn't bother me. The en suite didn't have ...
Advantages: a change from lying on the beach, the archeological museum , flamingos, St. Efisio Disadvantages: some architectural sins
over the island dressed in typical Sardinian costumes (they're wonderful to look at) take part in the procession, I haven't been to this festivity but I know a smaller one taking place in summer in the inland town of Nuoro, judging from that one the Cagliari procession must really be wonderful. Advantages: Clean, budget-priced accommodation, easily accessible Disadvantages: Area OK, but not the prettiest part of Paris
11 BIS RUE DE MAZAGRAN , Paris
This Hotel is rated as 3* according to the 2004 review. However, having stayed in Paris many times, we were well aware when we booked that the number of stars advertised by a hotel often doesn't mean a lot. Never take En Suite for granted, for instance, is rule number 1 when staying on the continent (we've learnt the hard way!!) However, this hotel definately deserved its 3 stars, and would fit the bill of a 3 star hotel in the UK.
We stayed at the Regina Opera for 2 nights in February 2004. The hotel is located in the 10th Arrondissement in an easily accessible location. It's off the main street so it's not too noisy at night, in an area that seems to have a large number of Turkish residents and restaurants. Back on the main road, however, are a wide variety of bars, clubs and restaurants to take ...
