We used this hotel as a base whilst staying in Quito and visiting the Galapagos Islands in April this year.
First Impressions
The hotel doesn?t look all that from the outside. There is a concierge man who is at the ready to assist you from your vehicle.
Reception Area
There is a nice clean marbled reception area. This area also has comfy leather settees complete with coffee table rather reminiscent of someone?s lounge. This area is great as a meeting area when gathering together for a tour. There are 3 computers with free internet access available 24/7. The reception is manned 24 hours with two lady reception staff one working day and the other the night. They speak limited English. We found the evening one barely broke into a smile.

Carmona is a town with a very long history and is situated about 30km east of Seville. It lies astride the NIV Seville-Cordoba highway so the town is very easy to find.
The Alcazar de la ReinaHotel is situated in the heart of the old town. It's not hard to find as it's more than adequately signposted, but it's still a bit of an ordeal driving to it. The old town was not designed with the automobile in mind (in fact I doubt whether the wheel was even invented when much of this place was built!) and you must negotiate a torturous and convoluted route through the incredibly narrow streets and lanes (all one way). The streets are so tight, it could be quite hair-raising - I don't have much hair so I was alright.

the buffet as many times as you like. However, it can be difficult to get served tea/coffee. Quite a few times I've had to go without because I've been running late and not able to get a responsive member of staff to serve me.
The hotel markets itself as being a spa and corporate events hotel and also makes a lot of the fact that it is located very close to Silverstone race course. I sometimes feel that there's a bit of a contradiction between being a spa and a corporate events hotel. I remember being at the hotel on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago while on a course and there were lots of couples who were staying there on one of their spa deals - most of the couples weren't particularly appreciative of the fact that they were sharing their fine dining experience with several tables of rowdy twenty somethings taking advantage of the free ...
