Advantages: Superb central locations. Varied international menu. Modest prices. Wonderful Thai soups! Disadvantages: The newly opened cafe is fresh and stylish though the original cafe could do with a decor update.
I spend a lot of time in Bergen and there is a cafe/restaurant right in the heart of the city whose name is frequently pencilled into my diary whenever I am planning to meet up with my Norwegian friends. Zupperia was opened in September 2000 and has become established as a very popular spot for locals and visitors alike. (I believe that it is known "offically" as a "soup-restaurant" but I have described it as a cafe/restaurant in this review as I think this will give a clearer idea of the range of fare on offer here!)
The location is superbly convenient for anyone sight-seeing in Bergen. It can be found on a corner where Nordahl Bruns gate crosses Olav Kyrres gate. This is right next to the bandstand at the north-western end of Lille Lungegårdsvannet - the lake in the city centre. This is virtually in the heart of the shopping ...
Advantages: Beautiful dining room Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.
We stayed at the HôtelRestaurant La Flambée in Bergerac in November 2008 for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. What follows is an honest account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world.

Flying time from the UK is about an hour and a half if you are flying from the London areas. Easyjet will take you to Bordeaux from Luton, likewise British Airways will fly you from Gatwick, and Ryanair will fly you from Stansted to Bergerac. This area is great as it is possible to use as ...
Advantages: Close to the airport Disadvantages: Too far from the centre of Bergen for tourists
is light and airy particularly in the foyer area.
There are glimpses of the fjords from a number of public locations in the hotel, and our room also had a small fjord view.
The facilities
There is a hotelrestaurant which serves a wide range of food. The range of meals was good, and the quality of the food also quite good. We ate here both for our evening meal, and also for breakfast (which was included).
The buffet was excellent with a range of cereals, cold meats, salads and hot food including eggs and bacon.
There is a gym located in the building, however, we did not have a chance to try it out.
The room
The room was a mini-suite. There was a separate lounge room with sofa, TV, table and hi-fi system. The bedroom was quite large with a king size bed. The bathroom was superb (I do like having underfloor heating in ...
