Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée -dine in style but bedrooms plain.

Advantages: Beautiful dining room
Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.

We stayed at the Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée in Bergerac in November 2008 for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. What follows is an honest account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world. We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and a half if you are flying from the London areas. Easyjet will take you to Bordeaux from Luton, likewise British Airways will fly you from Gatwick, and Ryanair will fly you from Stansted to Bergerac. The Hinckley Island Hotel

Advantages: Great Service and made to feel special!
Disadvantages: Brasserie isn't the best

The Hinckley Island Hotel is a great 4 Star Hotel. Easy to get to from the M6 or M69. Just get off J2 on the M69. I've stayed there many times now and have samples the services there. The staff are all very polite and helpful. They all greet you in and around the hotel and are always willing to help. The hotel is huge and luxurious. I've been lucky enough to have been upgraded from their Standard room's to their Suites twice in the 6 times i've visited the hotel. The standard rooms are exactly that, standard. Certainly acceptable by most and can be booked most weekends for around £55 which is great! The Suites are amazing! Made to be just like apartments they have a livingroom, bedroom and bathroom. Also the Suites have VIP packages inside so you get a fresh bowl of fruit and magazines, along with slippers and a robe ...

Review of Island Hotel, Hinckley

Texel: the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands

Advantages: Easy to reach from the mainland
Disadvantages: Some areas are overcrowded with tourists in the summer

If you're looking for a peaceful holiday, Texel in the months July and August is definitely not the place to be. Although the mass tourism concentrates in the western part of the island (De Koog-area), is's hard to find some quiet spots in these months. Besides that, if you're going there by car, you'll be confronted with large waiting times and delays at the ferry. The eastern part (the Wadden side) is all year long much quieter, with the possible exception of Oudeschild, the target harbour of many authentic sailing ships and modern yachts. So the best time to visit Texel is (late) Spring or (early) Autumn. Like the other islands Texel is ideal for cyclists, although it has less special cycling paths than the others. If you're only looking for a brief acquaintance with Texel and the other Wadden Islands, you might enjoy island ...
