Hotel Rocador Playa, Cala d'Or

Advantages: Nice beach, good food, good transport links
Disadvantages: A bit too isolated for some people

...I visited the Playa Imperial on a half board basis in August 2005. The area of Cala Llonga is completely different to any preconceptions you might have of Ibiza as being an 18-30s style holiday. The hotel and the beach are situated in a small and quite peaceful cove of the island. The hotel itself is on a slight hill, and only about 30 seconds walk from the sandy beach. My first impressions of the hotel were all favourable. Its a three star hotel so you don't expect luxury, but the staff were friendly and the rooms had everything you would expect, a TV, air conditioning and a reasonably sized ensuite bathroom. The buffet meals were also very good, there was a large amount of choice and again, although you don't expect luxury food, I was impressed with the selection, especially for myself as a vegetarian. Advantages: Everything that I wanted from a holiday
Disadvantages: None - except that you have to return home!

...to town, you can get some really good bargains, and remember to barter. The sea, is beautiful and gently slopes out, no sudden dips. Boat trips are available from Cala Llonga on a daily basis, to Santa Eulalia (great for shopping) plus the other side of the Island. Accommodation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We stayed at the Hotel Playa Dorada (Sirenis Group), the food was fantastic, often there was a choice of crepes for breakfast, full English breakfast and fresh fruit and how can I forget the cake (yes at breakfast), amongst various cereals. There was always a choice of at least 5 main meals and 3 puddings, you could have the lot if you could manage it. Hence I came back needing 2 plane seats!There was entertainment every evening and even a free seated cinema for football matches, or films for the older kids etc. The Hotel and staff throughout... Advantages: was in a quiet part of cala d'or
Disadvantages: the pool was in the shade most of the day

...we spent our honeymoon in cala d'or in hotel cala ferrera,it is a nice place to look at not an ugly building or anything like that it just wasnt a very friendly place.it didnt help that other than 1 other we were the only english couple in the whole place,we never even set eyes on any reps after we were dropped of f there,we had paid for half board but the food was disgusting and i will never go half board again.the pool was in complete shade for the majority of the day the bar was completely spanish,entertainment was rubbish,but the room was nice,il give credit where credit is due,we had fresh fruit and champagne on arrival witch was nice but we only ever went back to the hotel to sleep(well to go to bed!!) but dont worry we had a great honeymoon despite the hotel and cala d'or itself was so lovely we went back this year but stayed...
