apartments in total. We have a bar opened during the evening, reception 24 hrs. cleaning 5 days a week, and fire alarm system in apartments and public areas.
...Having returned from a 2 week holiday to this apartment block, I felt I have to warn everyone to avoid it like the plague.
This is the first package holiday we've been on since our Honeymoon 5 years ago, but having a 3 year old, we decided that we would give somewhere a try that had a kids club and plenty of things to keep her occupied.
The apartments were in PraiaDaRocha, a very commercialised resort on the Algarve.
In the brochure it stated there was a kids club, health club, sauna, jacuzzi and nightly entertainment amongst other things. The apartments were spread over 6 blocks, which was a little off putting, but we decided to give it a go anyway. Bad mistake.

...Had an excellent holiday in the very well appointed Casa-Penn apartment, which was very spacious and homely, the new kitchen and bathroom are stunning. The delicious air conditioning was very welcome after catching some rays on the sun terrace.
The Rocha Brava complex is extremely well kept, clean and has a nice serenity about it, feels very classy. The 3 swimming pools are all good and each have separate kiddie paddling pools.
The resort restaurant is excellent and I can definitely recommend their Chateuabriand and rack of lamb which were delicious, the house red wasn't bad either !!! Theres also a very pleasant cafe on site which has a nice friendly atmosphere and provides meals and drinks all day.
The Reception staff at the complex couldn't be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There is a free bus down to Carvoeiro 3...

Advantages: kids, club, bar, beach, 2 pools, jacuzzis, entertainent, shops, self catering Disadvantages: have to meet with CPO staff who will want to sell you timeshare

One of the most significant changes is the addition of properties to the complex giving flexible accommodation visitors. This means that depending on your profile you will either be allocated the beach front CPO apartments (families with children), Hotel Oura Praia which is a about 10 minutes' walk from the beach (couples) and the newly aquired Hotel Oura which is just a few minutes' walk from the beach and I undersdand is aimed more the young clubbers.
There is also 'S' block which is where we own which is just a very small block just outside the main complex and directly behind the beach. It may not appeal to everyone but we...

Back in 1976, a friend bought me a bottle os Madame Rochas parfum de toilette for my 21st birthday. He bought it in Jersey (duty free, what a cheapskate).
Despite that, it remains on of my favourites. I buy it when "housekeeping" money can run to... more
