Advantages: Salt Lick Hilton Safari Lodge is right in the middle of Tsavo National Park Disadvantages: As it was part of a complete Holiday based at Sun'n'Sand it was not long enough
...We arrived at Sun'n'Sand Hotel and wondered what we were letting our selves in for, there were no proper roads just a dusty bumpy drive down to the hotel, past
children all dressed in school uniform but no shoes.

We can pick up a few words uttered by the excited children in a strange guttural accent - oliphanten, shimpanzay. Is it Afrikaans? Are we in South Africa? What is this safari park?
But no, we're in Holland, the language is Dutch and we are waiting for the Beekse Bergen safari park to open. The park is about half an hour from Eindhoven airport...
