We will be going to this Hotel in October, there will be 17 of us, not a Stag Group just a large Family Oldest will be 82. We have stayed here 3 times before. Although we could get cheaper options we are well satisfied with the Salvator. We book thru the Hotels Own Web site, as we are a large group they have included Airport Transfer for our party at no extra cost. When you arrive at Prague Airport the transfer system is very good. There are mini Buses either you can pay for transfer to Centre or for a bit more to a named Hotel, well worth checking up on. The Salvator is located very centrally. 1 Minute from the DOM a fantastic Building with High Class Restaurant, Cheaper Restaurant and Fantastic Cake/Cafe. They do a real bargain Brunch on Sundays in the POSH Restaurant, a real bargain. 10 mins more walk brings you to the Old Town Square. Prague is quite small and even though has a fantastic tram system, walking everywhere is not out of the question. Back to Salvator, progress since our first visit when there was no lift, they now have one. The staff we have always found helpful and polite. Paying in CASH will probably get you a discount. The rooms are large and comfortable. They do have Suites for 4 and Shared facilities for 4 which come cheaper. Be careful the Suite is OK, lobby with Bathroom and two seperate doors to the 2 Bedrooms. The other the Shared facilities has where you have to go thru other bedroom to get to bathroom, we devised a system of BAG OVER THE HEAD so as not to embarrass. But the double rooms are very good. The Buffet Breakfast is good and last time was in the Basement, thank goodness for the Lift. There is a Restaurant attached to the Hotel that we have used on more than one occassion, and several other restaurants nearby. A good site for prebooking event tickets is www.ticketpro.cz We got tickets for La Boheme at the Opera House for about £7 a ticket last time. WARNING PICKPOCKETS IN PRAGUE ARE EXPERT, just be very careful on TRAMS, at TRAM STOPS BUSES, Railway Stations ETC. Even in Restaurants do not hang bags on backs of chairs. BUT STILL VISIT PRAGUE just beware. Good day trip we ahd to Ladeche (sounds like spelling not good) This is the Villahe Hitler had obiterated, all Men over 14 shot, Women and Children to Camps or to Germany. Only a small number lived to return, There is a very emotional ( I Cried) Group Satue of the Returning children on the hill looking down to the farm where the executions took place. When in Bar or Restaurant if you order Beer your glass will be refilled when empty without you ordering again until you indicate to stop. Usually pay at the end, they have a Beer Mat Marking System that works ok.
