I stayed at this hotel in August for a week with my partner and two children. Having read reviews about the hotel on other websites before my trip, I was a little apprehensive as I was expecting somewhere noisy and my family had warned me that Lloret was like 'Blackpool abroad'. Ultimately though I needn't have worried. The hotel itself was very clean with a main pool, childrens pool, main bar, poolside snack area, downstairs English bar and gift shop. The room had fairly basic facilites but was of a good clean standard with balcony overlooking the pool. The resort itself was also easy to get to from the airport - we got taxi transfers which costed about 20 Euros each way, so there was no messing about dropping off loads of other holiday makers before we got to our destination. The staff were helpful, friendly and multilingual and as we went all inclusive, there was always plenty to eat and drink, which unfortunately played havoc with my waistine! The all inclusive set up was the only down side for me, as there was only one part of the bar that you could use to collect all inclusive drinks from which sometimes lead to queuing. The food was a little uninspired but perfectly edible and we ate out a couple of times for a bit more variety. The rooms opened with a keycard and ours stopped working a few times which was a little annoying, but since there is a 24 hour reception it didn't present too much of a problem. The resort was lively, the weather fantastic, plenty of bars, loads of shops, restaurants and a shingle beach. There were also quite a few street stands selling crepes with melted chocolate in them which I also ate way too many of. The kids got their hair braided and henna tattoos, everywhere was family friendly although there were also a lot of 18-30 type bars with foam parties and that sort of thing as well. The hotel was near to several water parks and we went on a day trip to Barcelona (mainly so my boyfriend could visit the Neu Camp). We were never short of things to do. There was a lot of fast food places, like McDonalds and Burger King which I would have liked to see less off, as I prefer a more authentic spanish holiday but the kids absolutely loved it. My youngest daughter loved the magic show that was on in the hotel, as well as the Flamenco show and the 'mini-where she did drawing and painting etc. I would have no qualms about visiting Lloret or the Hotel Samba again in the future as we had a great holiday. I would recommend this especially to families with children.
