Advantages: Good night life, relaxed. Disadvantages: Crime, not much culture.
I lived In Costa Rica for 6 years and I spent most of my time in the capital, Sanjose, which is what I am writing about now.
The city itslef is quite small for a capital city but it makes it easyto navigate (up to a point!!). SanJose is located right in the middle of the country in what is called the 'central valley' although it isn't actually a valley.
The airport is in the north west of the city, actually outside SanJose.
Actually most of the decent hotels are outside the center too.
I cannot really recommend and as I have not really used one but I did stay in the Hampton Inn once and it was fine.
Taxis
Use them, they are cheap.

Advantages: sports facilities, clean hotel, good food, friendly staff Disadvantages: quiet for teenagers at night, lack of beach
Having just returned from HotelSan Luis We would like to say what a great time we had. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean especially as we went in August when it is at it's busiest. The food although a bit repetitive is excellent and there is always something you like (even when you have fussy children)! The rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily and clean bed linen and towels changed daily too. The entertainment is very good generally and the children's animation is excellent.
We went all inclusive and this is well worth considering as drinks can be very expensive. Ice creams are free as well as unlimited drinks, crisps, nuts etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can hire beach towels for a refundable deposit of 10 euros each. Sports facilities are a godsend for teenagers as is the spotless pool area.
We will definitely be ...
Advantages: The price, the location, the staff, the rooms, everything Disadvantages: ...our shower was like needles
Introduction:

With a spare weekend on our hands, we decided to take advantage of our Geographical positioning and take a trip to somewhere on the west coast. I've always wanted to see San Francisco, and after looking into flights, we found some bargains. So off we go. We looked for reasonable hotels, and came across The Petite Auberge, it wasn't the cheapest we found, but it had an appealing charm that won us over, so we booked.
Company info:
The Petite Auberge is part of the Joie De Vivre chain, I found this information on their website: "Joie de Vivre Hotels is California's largest boutique hotel company. Started in San Francisco in 1987 by Chip Conley, while in his mid-twenties, Joie de ...
