It was on a day in 1198 that a spring miraculously gushed out in the garden of a Spoleto ... more
convent by the hands of Pope Innocent III. Known since then as “the holy wellspring”, the waters were believed to have healing powers and for this reason, it was ordained that pilgrims could freely draw from the well. In 1601, the town’s vice-governor arranged for the restoration of the spring and a tablet, which still remains today, was placed to serve as a memorial of the event.During the 19th century, a tannery was erected on the site. A fine work of architecture, the establishment fell into ruins after housing the business until the middle of the 20th century, when it was moved out of the town’s historical centre. In 1993, Paolo Zuccari bought the building, restoring it to its former beauty and radically transforming its interiors.Today, Hotel San Luca is a small, charming hotel run by the Zuccari family. Elegant and sophisticated, it features a warm and familiar atmosphere. You will be totally wrapped up in the old ambience of this hotel and will find it hard to believe that most of what you see is new following the drastic changes made to the inside of the building during the restoration. As you enter the hotel, freshness and brightness will surround you: the natural light filters through the arcade that opens into the central courtyard and reflects on the room’s pastel walls. The hall is furnished with comfortable peach armchairs arranged around an 18th century fireplace, and with antique pieces that add to the warmth, making you feel right at home. Two canaries occupy an antique birdcage, which blends nicely with the background of pastel colours from the striking collection of 19th century tureens on display.Rooms are spacious, colourful, soundproof, and extremely clean, filled with amenities and featuring 2 meter-wide double beds. The large bathrooms are faced with Carrara marble, some offering whirlpool bathtubs and all including telephone, towel heater, and antifogging mirror. The hotel is air-conditioned and drapery- and carpet-free. The building complies with all the current regulations.

Advantages: sports facilities, clean hotel, good food, friendly staff Disadvantages: quiet for teenagers at night, lack of beach
Having just returned from HotelSan Luis We would like to say what a great time we had. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean especially as we went in August when it is at it's busiest. The food although a bit repetitive is excellent and there is always something you like (even when you have fussy children)! The rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily and clean bed linen and towels changed daily too. The entertainment is very good generally and the children's animation is excellent.
We went all inclusive and this is well worth considering as drinks can be very expensive. Ice creams are free as well as unlimited drinks, crisps, nuts etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can hire beach towels for a refundable deposit of 10 euros each. Sports facilities are a godsend for teenagers as is the spotless pool area.
We will definitely be ...
Advantages: Nice Hotel, rooms cleanand located in centre of town, and cheap Disadvantages: Noisy, you can clearly hear bars and clubs till the small hours, food average
We stayed at the Mar de Cortez, February 2006. The rooms could be described as outdated, no television, kettle etc but large enough and probably about the cheapest you can get in Cabo! There is a pool, but while we were there it wasn't heated and water very cold. Major advantage of Mar de Cortez is it is in the centre of town, about five minutes walk to the Marina, good restaurants and bars etc. This is also a downfall, if you have an early rise, to go fishing etc. you will be aware of the loud noises coming from the clubs and bars that stay open until the early hours of the morning. The Mar de Cortez has a bar in it, but it wasn't very inviting, a good place to meet up before heading out somewhere else, and meeting up at the end of the night for a night cap. We tended to eat out of the hotel most of the time and only had breakfast in ...
Advantages: The price, the location, the staff, the rooms, everything Disadvantages: ...our shower was like needles
Introduction:
So, we're stuck in Albuquerque, and have pretty much seen about as much desert as we can take. We've 'done' all there is to do. With a spare weekend on our hands, we decided to take advantage of our Geographical positioning and take a trip to somewhere on the west coast. I've always wanted to see San Francisco, and after looking into flights, we found some bargains. So off we go. We looked for reasonable hotels, and came across The Petite Auberge, it wasn't the cheapest we found, but it had an appealing charm that won us over, so we booked.
Company info:
The Petite Auberge is part of the Joie De Vivre chain, I found this information on their website: "Joie de Vivre Hotels is California's largest boutique hotel company. Started in San Francisco in 1987 by Chip Conley, while in his mid-twenties, Joie de ...
