Our staff will see to parking either in our garage 50 m away or will indicate a nearby car park. The charge for garage parking is 11 Euro per day and should be booked in advance. Advantages: Beautiful, historic, unusual and crime free. Disadvantages: Highly expensive in parts, very hilly, crowded on summer days.
...seem unfazed (i suppose they're used to it) and once you get to the village it is a bit quieter and less posh than Capri Town. There is the Villa SanMichele to visit there, plenty of little souvenir shops that won't break the bank, cafes and the highlight of our island tour, the chair lift! This goes up to the top of Monte Solero ("the sunny mountain") which is the island's highest point. It was somewhat alarming to get on and off, given that the operators almost shoved you in and you had to open your bar before you got to the platform at the top so they could yank you off, but it was OK once you got going. The views are great and I personally love the peace and quiet of a chairlift, gliding over the treetops in your own little world, so I really enjoyed the journey. At the top there are wonderful views over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius...

Advantages: UNIQUE Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE IN SUMMER
...Below are some addresses of hotels and restaurants you fill find useful, if you go to Capri. As far as accommodation is concerned, the best place to stay is the house of your friends, provided you have any on the islands. If you do not, then you should know that hotel rates are fairly expensive, especially in summer. I would advice renting a room in a private house. Otherwise, at £40 per night, “Esperia”, in Liberty-style cannot be beaten for the spectacular views. For food, try to stay away from the main tourist areas. A healthy choice is to go in a local shop and ask them to prepare sandwiches for you. For a good meal, “La Capannina” in Via delle Botteghe 12 is a good place. A full meal should cost around £35 per person, including wine....
