Walking Among Ghosts in Santa Fe Style

Advantages: Beautiful small city in a dramatic desert and mountain landscape
Disadvantages: Expensive and somewhat pretentious, having lost the laid-back attitude of the past

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Modern Santa Fe in Context - An Editorial ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Santa Fe is a small urban gem. Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and surrounded by the haunting beauty of the high desert, it truly is a lovely small city--a city well worth visiting. In addition to being the state capital of New Mexico, Santa Fe offers visitors marvelous museums, excellent restaurants, and the vitality of a vibrant artists' community. Its historic 17th-century Plaza still serves its original purpose well, providing an attractive and effective focus for much of the city's political, cultural, commercial, and religious activity. So, why can't I embrace this lovely city? What's not to like? What's my problem? My problem is that the Santa Fe of today, for all its very ...
Santa Fe - The New Mexican Experience
Advantages: Positive, welcoming atmosphere. Delicious Food
Disadvantages: Overcrowding on Saturday nights
until the point where our bill was being presented which we felt quite thankful for. The toilets themselves are very small and located down a couple of steps towards the main kitchen, the first time I visited them (on one of my earlier visits to Santa Fe) I actually thought I was going to the kitchen itself. There are only 3 toilets in the ladies (not sure about the men's) and were clean and pleasant. No overflowing bins or rubbish on the floor, and everything appearing clean and presentable. There was a supply of hand cleaner also (always helps!). I can't comment on any disabled toilet access and I must admit I have never noticed any, which is unusual as usually you spot them in the same area. I would assume they are located just to the left for ease of access as there is more room there and no steps to navigate. After enjoying ...
Review of Santa Fe Restaurant, Reading, Berkshire
Santa Fe - It Disney get cheaper than this!
Advantages: Value for Money
Disadvantages: Basic Facilities, Restaurant
. The free left luggage facility was handy for the last day. No problems or queues there. The check out was very straightforward we just had to drop the key off and the time you had to check out by was reasonable. We didn't visit the games room but there seemed to be quite a few arcade type games. The shop had quite a good range of souvenirs but was quite small and didn't seem to have much that you couldn't get at the shops in the parks. There was a free shuttle bus every few minutes to the parks which was handy, and the Santa Fe bus stops closest to the park which is handy. This was so convenient that we never walked to the parks but the journey was just a couple of minutes on the bus so it can't take very long to walk there. All in all I thought the hotel was very good value for money and as we were only there 3 nights and both me ...
