Catch the train you find on the lower floor, check for the line "Napoli-Sorrento".Once you get to Sorrento come out of the station and turn left into "Corso Italia". Walk along this street as far as Tasso Square, then turn left into "Fuorimura St.", straight on you will see the hotel on you left side.FROM NAPLES AIRPORTIf you are landing in Naples at Capodichino airport, the easiest and most comfortable way to reach Sorrento is the "CURRERI" bus line stopping just outside the arrival hall. This bus will take you in Tasso Square, the heart of Sorrento.From there turn left into "Via Fuorimura",straight on you will see our hotel on your left.From the airport you can also get the ANM bus to Piazza Garibaldi rail station. From the rail station reach Sorrento by CIRCUMVESUVIANA.BY CARAny direction you are coming from follow the A3 Napoli- Salerno motorway. Look for the sign Salerno/Reggio Calabria- Penisola Sorrentina as far as Castellamare di Stabia exit. After that drive along the SS145 to Sorrento. Drive past the towns META, PIANO DI SORRENTO and S.AGNELLO as far as Sorrento. Drive along " Via degli Aranci " then turn into "Via Fuorimura" on your right. Park you car in the little parking lot oppossite the hotel.

...This Hotel is great! I stayed here a couple of years ago. The Hotel is in Sant'Agnello which is about 15 mins walk from Sorrento (Piazza Tasso) and there is a local bus service if you don't feel like walking. The Hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and very organised. The pool is also very nice and the dining room is fabulous with a view of the Bay of Naples. Very near to the Hotel there is a small beach, some local shops and a couple of restaurants too. It is better to go into Sorrento for bars in the evening although there are a couple of small bars in Sant'Agnello on the main street which is called Corso Italia (about 5 mins walk from the Hotel) On the main street there is a more frequent bus service into Sorrento (buses every 20 mins). Good value for money....

...If you want to be close to the town and within easy walking distance of the town centre, The Hotel Carlton International is amongst the best located Hotels in Sorrento. For that alone it is worth considering as some holiday makers book thinking they are going to Sorrento, only to discover Sorrento is a five mile bus ride away. From this Hotel, it is no more that a couple of hundred yards to the Piazza Tasso, the main Square in Sorrento.
We have stayed at this Hotel four times in recent years and on the whole enjoyed every visit.
On our last vist, we noticed a distinct drop in statndards. The food was certainly no where near as good as previous visits, and satff were not as attentive and did not appear as happy in their work as they had previously.
Since our last visit, I have read that several members of the Hotel Staff have left to work...

Advantages: Pool, friendly staff, value for money Disadvantages: Rooms a little out-dated
..., and breakfasts were good. The hotel is 600m from the sea - the supposed 'sea views' in some of the rooms aren't much to write home about.
All in all a good basic hotel, and reasonably good value for Sorrento.
The hotel's website is http://www.hotelvillamaria.it/english/albergo.htm which has full pictures though doesn't seem to have been updated recently as it is still showing 2004 room rates!...

My family and I have now stayed at Johanna Park Hotel twice. Once in June 2005 and again in June 2008. This hotel is simply excellent. Johanna and her fantastic staff make you feel right at home and couldn't be more helpful. It's like no other hotel... more
