My friend and I recenly visited Rome and stayed at the Hotel Scott / Scott House.

Advantages.

* This hotel is slap bang in the city centre. This is great for places to eat, the local shops, transport, etc. In an evening it is also unbelievely interesting watching the people milling around the streets, as it is so different to our culture. I highly recommend at least one evening watching the crazy driving and parking that goes on below your window.

* 2 minute walk away from the train station and metro line. The hotel is literally right next to the Temini Station. This gives you the metro line that leads to all of the major tourist places (and when we were there in Nov 2006 it was only 11 euros for a three day metro ticket - Bargain!). Termini Station also has a training going to the airport about every half hour.

* Breakfast every morning.
The best thing about the Scott hotel was the breakfast every morning, you receive a croissant with a choice of Cherry or Apricot Jam, butter or chocolate spread. As well as the Italian version of toast and a cup of tea, coffee or cappuccino and fresh orange juice. It is a good breakfast and sets you up for your day of sight seeing.
Disadvantages.

• Very noisy. Bewarned
• Shower had very little power and was cold.
• Thin Walls.
• On the 5th Floor of a building. There is a lift.
