Advantages: night life's fun, sing-along's a blast! Love the shopping. Disadvantages: none unless you'd rather be elsewhere
...Ginza street or the Ginza district is probably one of the busiest districts I have seen in Tokyo.
It's comprised of about eight blocks put together and has some ten thousand or so shops, business offices, karaoke night clubs, spas and restaurants. It also has lots of those Japanese malls you can visit-one I'm particularly agreeable of is-what they call it again?-Roponggi Hills where the interior is quite cozy and of the rural-modern type: sleek but with a touch of the traditional.
You can also visit their Kabuki Theaters (yes, this puppet show play is still the "in" thing in Tokyo and I don't believe it will go out of fashion either); or just wine and dine on saki and sushi... Delicious!
Careful though because I think they have this anti-smoking-while-walking and no-throwing-of-butts ordinance there. You wouldn't want to get caught...

Advantages: An amazing, fascinating city. Great food. Disadvantages: Too much concrete.
...don’t fly a third of the way around the world to go to a zoo do you? Instead, walk around the Imperial Palace, shop in Shibuya and Shinjuku, take an early morning trip to Tsukiji fish market, go clubbing in Roppongi, investigate the market at Harajuku, visit a few temples and if you can possibly arrange it – take in some Kabuki in the Ginza area.
Tokyo is also a brilliant starting point for some excellent day trips – Nikko, Kamakura and Hakone (where you can climb Mount Fuji if the weather / time of the year is right).
All in all, a fascinating city well worth a few weeks holiday at anytime of the year....

Advantages: The world within a city Disadvantages: Easy to get lost,
...Ginza, it offers many delights for those shopaholics - personally i looked only at Gucci from across the street - and spent most of my time in the Sony Showroom experimenting with many gadgets that are not yet available on the market. It is only a short walk from the Sanai Buliding - made completely of glass and facing the Ginza yon chrome crossing. There is also the Kabuki za theatre and if you're feeling particularly adventorous take a stroll down to the Tsujiki Fish Market between 5am - noon. In central Tokyo is also the Jinbbocho district where i was staying, if you're in this area a visit to the Tokyo Dome would not go astray as it is an electric and vibrant area with many opportunites for shopping and eating out with a few particurly good Sushi Restaurants on Hakusan Dori.
Central Tokyo was perhaps one of my favourite areas...
