Advantages: Walking enables best viewing sytem but an efficient public transport system provides a good alternative Disadvantages: City centre is not car friendly
...I am writing this review on “Getting around Vienna” from the stance of a tourist as this is the only experience I have of Vienna. If you plan a longer visit, it would be advisable to research further.
There is so much to see in Vienna (as you’ve probably realised from my growing set of reviews on the city). The city itself is quite compact and so is relatively easily negotiated by foot. Walking is the best way to view Vienna, as there is always something to see on every street that could otherwise be missed.
The public transport system operating in Vienna is ultra efficient and very easy to use. If you plan to use public transport (and I do strongly recommend this), it is best to buy a ticket in advance. These are available in newsagents, ticket machines or at an underground office. Hotels often also stock these – we got ours from...

Advantages: A very nice place with friendly people Disadvantages: You have to come home again
...I visited Vienna in March 2001 and have to say this was one of my most favourite places I have visited on a short City break.
We flew with Buzz from Stansted that took about 1 hour 40 minutes flying time. The Airport is connected well to the City Centre with a twice-hourly service that takes about 20 minutes. We stayed in The Renaissance Penta hotel that I will recommend and Ive written a separate opinion on this lovely hotel.

Advantages: lively city with tradition Disadvantages: not cheap, old folks peculiar, traffic jams

To see and feel Vienna should take at least a whole week, but I understand that most visitors come here for 3 or 4 days, so I´m going to adept to this schedule.
The best time...
