Hotel - Lotissement, Centre d'Activities du Pin, Beaucouze, 49070 Angers, Centre d'activité du Pin, 49070 Beaucouzé, Pays de la Loire, France - 2 Stars - 42 Rooms
Advantages: Pretty city, some good attractions, good places to eat out, transport links Disadvantages: Everything comes to a standstill on Sundays
's the latest is 2.30am. You have to make sure you're back in time for the last tram or risk walking back to your hotel/accommodation!
**Shopping**
Ahh, France - the shopping capital. Not! Perhaps it's because I'm used to Birmingham city centre and the Bull Ring, but the shops in Nantes disappointed me. There's just not very many of them.
On the main shopping street near the Place du Cirque tram stop, you've got some familiar faces: Zara, H&M, Sephora, C&A - as well as some French high street staples. Across the road and towards Bouffay you'll find a huge department store called Galeries Lafayette?and that's about it.
Oh, there are plenty of couture shops - the sort that you'd have to take out a mortgage to be able to afford, but for the average high street shopper there's very little.
I was pleased then to find out that at the end ...
Just back from a wonderful stay at The Starhotel in Kingussie. We stayed for a 5 night break in Sept. and cannot find fault.
We were welcomed by the owner, and shown to our room.
Good size, with large double bed, nice dressing table & warbrobe with plenty of space for all our walking gear. Tea & Coffe making facilities aswell as an iron & hairdryer. You can have the option of having a bath or shower, we chose bath, which was huge!
Ample car parking behind the hotel which also doubles as a little beer garden.
Breakfast & dinner included in price...and to be honest we have never eaten so much in our lives!!! Absolutely amazing especially for the price! A full range of choices for breakfast, fruits, cereals & of course porridge! Orange juice on tap! Once you've devoured that, a full breakfast menu to choose from...from the full ...
Advantages: Great Value for Money Disadvantages: Nothing
My Husband and I have just returned from The StarHotel, the hotel while being old fashioned it is extremelly clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant, the food is excellant I defy anyone to find better value for the money, the day before I arrived I injured my back and the girl on reception called Tanya kept heating my back pad in the microwave oven for me, she is a little treasure, on our second day we booked to return in March 2009 and we are looking forward to it, yes the hotel has no lifts but that is no problem, the portions of the food given are exceptional I'm sure I've put a stone on in the four days we were there. It is in a great location for seeing all other local sites, I can really recommend going to see the Reindeers just outside Aviemore a truly great experience ...
