This hotel is a fair walk from the nearest lift station, and the ski bus stop seemed to be quite a walk from the hotel, as was St Anton centre. The walk back is quite steeply uphill - not practical in ski boots. Not many points for convenience, then!

excursions into the surrounding mountains of the Tyrol. Or for exploring the rich history of the area - Neuschwanstein Castle and the ruins of Ehrenberg are just two of the local attractions. Close enough for a short walk to the centre, yet nestling at the foot of our favourite hills. The extensive garden, the sun terrace, the mountain panorama, the play area and the small outside pool are all invitations to stop and tarry a while. The rooms in Hotel Tannenhof are all something a little bit special and offer hotel guests an unforgettable view of the local mountain scenery. Twelve of the rooms have been freshly decorated in a light and friendly wood and furnished with balconies. Some of them have been decorated with Apple Green under the principles of Feng Shui. The older dozen rooms are decorated in a traditional Tyrolean style and most of them boast large balconies. The comfortable atmosphere has been enhanced by the fresh and welcoming colour schemes chosen by Frau Foidl. Our attic rooms allow guests to awake to the first rays of the sun and go to sleep under starlight. SAUNA and MASSAGE AREA: The sauna in the basement of the hotel is a five-person sauna that can be used at any time by all guests. A relaxation area and shower/WC are also available. There is a charge of 5,00 Euros per person. BREAKFAST is served from 07.30 to 10.00 in the light non-smoking room with terrace. Sample the varied buffet with fresh rolls and wholemeal bread from the village bakery; freshly-cooked eggs - either fried or scrambled; different kinds of cheese or sausages,; juices for that morning burst of energy; a small tea bar with a selection of herbal teas; and muesli-corner with yoghurt and different sorts of jam. RESTAURANT with BAR: Chef Nikolaus Foidl and his team cook for our guests twice a day - midday between 11.30 and 14.00 and in the evening from 18.00 to 21.00. The menu in the Tannenhof offers hearty local and international dishes, which reflect the specialities of the seasons of the year.
is ideal for relaxing in a cosy ambiance and our well-maintained house. For decades our family-run hotel has been accomodating TV and radio celebrities.
Advantages: Family run, comfortable clean rooms, wi-fi available, car parking Disadvantages: No lift, table sharing, average food

The staff/owners at the hotel were very attentive, and there was a wi-fi card available for a reasonable price but access was limited to the public rooms, i.e. not available in the room.
The food was ... ...table to make up a four, and single guests share to make up a pair. We hated this, and there was no choice, even though there was a nice space for expansion which was underused.
The rooms were clean and well decorated. Car parking was available, and there was a fine sun terrace.
NO LIFT! ...

I can't claim to be an expert on Russian 19th century literature, but one thing I don't associate with it is crime fiction; so I was surprised to pick this book up and find that it was crime fiction. I was also surprised it was a novel,... more
