I am well travelled both with work and for fun, I love my cats and horses spending lots of time riding. Am married to a kiwi which makes it fun when we watch England vs the All Blacks at rugby!

This is a great little Europeanhotel - I would definitely recommend it for a city break in this wonderful city!
We recently stayed here for my first wedding anniversary. We booked through Last Minute.com and got a package including first class Eurostar, and three nights bed and breakfast here for £190 each which was great value. We did pay the extra £6 for a canal view room and as it is right on the canal this is well worth it!
The hotel is centrally located - so much so that you have the tour boats going right past your bedroom. It is walkable from the station and about 5 minutes from the main square.
The hotel has been recently done up so is really smart - we had a lovely downstairs right on the canal (you had to shut your curtains or the boat tours could see in) - I checked when we did our boat tour!!!
The only problem with the room was that in true European style there is no bathroom door - only a screen. This was fine as we had a private shower and toilet and sink but it was a little bit embarrousing. I got food poisoning from a meal out (not from this hotel) and it was awful being very ill and not being able to shut the door. Never mind it proved that my husband is dedicated!
Breakfast is included and is a buffet including cheeses, meats and breads, pastries and coffee and juice - plenty to keep you going until you went and got your famous belgium chips and chocolate!
Staff were extremely pleasant - they speak English, French, German, Flemish and get by in Spanish and Italian so anyone from Europe would be ok here.
They were so helpful when I had food poisoning - allowing us a free late check out, giving me a free lift to the station and offering me nausea pills.
An exceptional hotel for the price - definitely a great place to stay!

Good review! No bathroom door? I think at least a screen is ok. I would be more bothered by boat tourists looking into my window than by my gf watching me in the bathroom.
