Tiger Balm

Advantages: A superb balm for aches and pains
Disadvantages: its a bit smelly!!

Tiger Balm was the brainchild of a Chinese Herbalist many years ago. The balm was originally formulated for the Chinese Emperors to use. After the herbalists death one of his sons travelled the East accompanied by a tiger (A symbol of strength and vitality in the East) selling the balm wherever he could. In the 1920`s his two sons established a company base in Singapore to manufacture the Tiger Balm and the product is widely used throughout the world nowadays. Tiger Balm is used for the relief of muscular aches and pains, I find it especially useful after a hard days gardening. The balm can be bought in two strengths, the Red Balm which is extra strong and the White Balm which is regular strength, you can also buy a Tiger Liniment oil to use for massage purposes. The balm contains camphor which has a really pungent smell, many ...

Eye of the Tiger

Advantages: Great fun, well-researched, solid characterisation
Disadvantages: A bit of an odd collection

Part one of my holiday reading this year, Brigadier-General Sir Harry Flashman relates his twilight years in this eleventh and, sadly, penultimate volume of The Flashman Papers (the 'finder' of the papers, George MacDonald Fraser passed away early in 2008). In three separate episodes ranging from his early sixties to his mid-seventies, Flashman proves there's no rogue like an old rogue. In The Road to Charing Cross (by far the longest installment, comprising a good two thirds of the book), Harry foils a plot to assassinate the Emperor of Austria, before dropping an old rival for his wife's affections in hot water in The Subtleties of Baccarat. His final hurrah then appears to take place in Flashman and the Tiger, where the elderly Flashy crosses swords with a man who once saved his life at Rorke's Drift. The great thing about ...

Review of Flashman and the Tiger - George MacDonald Fraser

tigers adventures

Advantages: great fun story
Disadvantages: none

Tiger isnt a real tiger he is just a tinylittle harmless kitten but he doesnt want to be a kitten, he dreams of being a great big ferocious tiger, with great big paws and great big claws, that roars very loudly. Tiger wants to be a tiger that much he pretends he is when he is playing, he doesnt want to play with wool like other kittens do he wants to stalk prey silently and jump roaring like a real tiger. Tiger spends all day pretending to be a real tiger with his huge paws and menacing roar which is realy quite funny as he only has a litle meow and by the end of the day little tiger is exhausted and wants nothing more than to curl up in his bed and go to sleep. This book is fun, there are lots of funny noises in this book for you and your child to repeat, some rhyming pieces, the pictures are brilliant and the story is basic ...
