When looking for a hotel in New York this time around, I had a few more factors to consider compared to last time, as I was taking my mum I wanted to make sure that she was in a good location next to the shops and would be able to find her way around easy enough.
I was trying to book the Helmsley which was a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location but like many of the hotels I had already tried most of the availability had already gone, so my colleague ... ...at the hotel and its location I thought it would be perfect and the price also seemed pretty reasonable considering that we were going the first week in December and most of the population were travelling in that direction to complete some Christmas shopping.
When I looked at the hotels website it claims to be "The best Address in all of Manhattan, New York." So let's see if that is true……

Advantages: Excellent helpful staff, lovely rooms! Disadvantages: Bit of a walk into town centre
I booked the Thirty Thirty hotel after looking on hotels.com and finding the pictures looked really nice.
I also checked on a popular review site and although reviews where slightly mixed, most enjoyed the hotel.
I had lost my bags on my flight to New York so whilst checking in at the hotel I told the reception about this and they were very helpful and reassuring.
My bags arrived the day after and I was informed of this straight away 10/10 for ... ...The location of the hotel is not the best, the walk is around 15 minutes to the centre. But you do so much walking in New York anyway that you dont really notice it.
The actual room was fantastic, I'm not sure if it was because we had an end room but it was really big. The shower was very large and the bed was really comfy.
We never felt unsafe or threatened in the hotel or anywhere in New York.

...go through. I expect standard service at a three star hotel, however this location was far from adequate. The only positive aspects about this hotel was the high pressured showers and the location from the shopping district. I would recommend staying at a Days Inn rather than at Hotel Thirty-Thirty ...
