Advantages: lovely clean hotel, friendly, english speaking Disadvantages: none
...After a relatiely short transfer from the airport, we were greeted by friendly reception staff and porters. Arrived in a huge family suite with a queen sized bed and two singles for the children, the room was clean with a lovely balcony, however the air conditioing wasn't great!
Food was buffet style, great breakfasts, but were fairly repetitive, the scrambled eggs were to die for! Dinners were always great, something for everyone, even my fussy 4 and 7 year olds found plenty to eat with the large choice of dishes available, we stayed for a week and it was different every night. Buy water outside the hotel as it is quite expensive from the bar.
Pool and surrounding area was always spotless, but I can imagine that it gets quite busy at the height of summer.
No entertainment in the evenings meant that we were usually in bed before 10...

...If you're on holiday, anywhere along Spain's Costa del Sol, and you have children. Then Tivoli World is a real must.
Tivoli World is in the resort of Benalmadena/Arroya de la Miel and is easy to find, Any Hotel or resort reception will be able to advise as to its where abouts, opening times etc:
Basically if you're on the Costa del Sol, catching a train to Benalmadena is possibly the best way to get there. Tivoli World is only a couple of minutes from the station.

Advantages: Location, old design! Disadvantages: Foggy during most winter.
...Seteais is part of the amazing set of the Serra de Sintra (Sintra Mountain, in English), not more than 30 km from Lisbon.
For those who don't now this area, Sintra is a very special place. Is the highest mountain (300 m only) near Lisbon and at the same time it's close to Cascais and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean coast. This proximity to the ocean gives to Sintra its only microclimate, foggy and wet, with a mystic touch, no matter what.
That's why Sintra is such an exuberant place, where everything is green and fresh throughout the year. That was also the main reason why Sintra became the place where most nobles and even the Portuguese royal family build their summer houses.
Seteais is on the low part of the mountain, but has an amazing view to the Palácio da Pena on the top, and to all surroundings.
Before talking of the hotel...
