Hotel Tzante

...18-30 holiday at the Tzante hotel for about a month, i may still be a little bias. For my whole holiday, we booked with thomas cook, and 9 girls each paid £375 in total for a week here on room only basis. With this we werent sure exactly what to expect, although some of our friends went away before us and did a quick check of our hotel and said it look lie it was the nicest about!!

Having only been back from my 18-30 holiday at the Tzante hotel for about a month, i may still be a little bias. For my whole holiday, we booked with thomas cook, and 9 girls each paid £375 in total for a week here on room only basis. With this we werent sure exactly what to expect, although some of our friends went away before us and did a quick check of our hotel and said it look lie it was the nicest about!!

When we arrived, we had to pay an initial deposit of 35 euros yet as some of the girls had been away last year on an 18-30 they knew to expect this so we had budgeted this is. This was per room as well so if like us you have 3 in a room its not too much. A safe was 15 euros, but well worth it as it jsut gived you confidence that you luxuries wount be stollen whilst your out. What i found was very good is that reception take your passports when you arrive and lock them away in their desk so there is no chance of you losing them. A very good idea considering the people staying there!!

The rooms were basic yet what can you expect for an 18-30. The only extra you get is a fridge which is ok but not all are exceptionally cold. Some rooms have a kettle but not all. Bathroom has a shower - some with a curtain some without - toilet and sink. The beds are simple. Every room has a good size balcony which became perfect for drying wet clothing and towels!

Our room faced the main clubbing strip which we though was going to be hellish, but we found that it wasnt too noisy with the doors and shutters shut - especially considering the fact that most of the time you go to bed too drunk to care! Having lasted one night without air-con we decided to buy it - i cannot remember the exact price now but it was about 35 euros all together i think!!

The pool was a fairly good size though by the middle of the day it was packed due to being there peak times, but often we would leave to go to the beach where there was always room. The pool bar was expensive for some things and you werent allowed to eat or drink any food or drink from outside around the pool or in reception. Yet it was fully stocked with many varietys of soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and foods. The bar staff wre also lovely and would try there hardest to make you what you want and make you laugh!!

Mama - the owner - was lovely, her family were often around the hotel, and all were very helpful if you needed anything. If anyone wasnt at reception you can ask the bar staff, but to just pick up your key, they dont mind you gettin it yourself!! The only problem came when firstly our air-con stopped working and we tried explaining this to one of the members of staff yet he was very rude and unhelpful. And then later when we had a number of hornets in our bathroom and it took them 2/3 days to help us kill them - we did most of the work ourseves until mama saw one and attacked the bathroom with raid!! some-what amusing though annoying it took that long!!
